For one, his contract's better. Not to mention when he does play, he makes a difference to other teams' defense. If we traded VC for him, our offense becomes more versatile as he could finally take someone out of the paint or draw the double in the paint rather than out on the perimeter.

I really wouldn't mind the move. I mean you have to take into consideration that
A) when he's healthy he is still a dominant bigman, and one that we've lacked
B) his contract ends the summer that all those big name players are FAs ie. LeBron and Wade and co.

The Nets need Vince to draw the attention of the defense and actually do more than sit on the bench wearing a suit and tie. The Pacers can keep JO, i'd rather Thorn bring in a shooter today so Vince and Devin can have someone to kick out to when they make the D collapse!!

THanks MrDollar Bills I totally agree WE NEED A SHOOTER now!! somebody who can just come in hot !! and spark the game Lets trade Jamal Magloire and find somebody to help us in the Shooting category.
What options do you guys think we have ??
or Think Rod would stay put?

For 2010, Yeah.

I really dont care if he plays. I want the young guys to play. so JO on the bench works for me.

No.

You have to look at the needs of this team. we NEED a 2 guard more than a center. I admit I'm looking at this from an immediate basketball perspective and maybe not as much long term in regards to draft picks and cap room because i honestly think those 2 things are overrated for this team. Our draft picks will not get us a vince carter type player. And the Nets are a hard sell to any big-time FA. We'll see how our marketability changes with the brooklyn move but not now.

I totally disagree. Yes, we are moving to NY, but we will not be the NY Knicks.
