Two questions:
1. What do you think the chances of significant changes being made would be if we somehow went on run here and made the playoffs?
2. Would you be happy with this exact same core of guys coming back next year, outside of the draft pick?
I realize the not wanting to lose thing. I don't sit there and cheer for them to lose. I'm just saying that if you want things to change, and I think most do, there needs to be zero doubt. Kohl isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the box, remember.
I agree some changes need to be made at this point, however if this team went on a serious run and challenged in the playoffs, perhaps even got through a round, I'd be happy if the majority of the core stayed intact, with the addition of a pass first heady pg.
The thing you ignore with that thinking is that for this team to go on a serious run now several things would have to happen, such as some or all of the following - Redd, Bogut and Mo would have to gell and make the inside-outside thing work, CV or Yi would have to step up big time and become a solid PF, Bobby would have to continue to get back to his previous level of play before the injury, Bogut's development and improved play would have to continue, Des, CB, Ivey and one of Jake Gadz or Ruffin would have to be very effective role players, and Coach K would have to keep his head out of his a**.
Now the likelihood of the above things all happening is very very slim, but from this point a lot of them would have to for us to make a real run and be competitive. If they don't then the moves we all want now will happen anyway, but if they do this team would look to have a bright future, and in that case I'd be happy to keep the majority of the core intact. Crazy i know.
