While I like Deng, I don't think he's worth $12M a year so for those who think the Bucks made a mistake when the Maxed out Redd now they're making the same mistake again. Only this time, they also have Ben Wallace's bloated contract to deal with as well.

The Bucks are losing bad contracts in this deal. No question. But they're also bringing back one much worse contract in my opinion and they may be forced to give Deng a bad contract to keep him.

Yep. I'd love to have Deng on this team (even though I think he's overrated), but not for the seemingly obscene price tag he's putting on his head. If the reports of Chicago's offer are even close to correct I'm absolutely amazed he turned that down, and I don't want to pay the guy $15mil for the privilage of having him on my team. It would echo the reason for getting rid of Redd in the first place.

I'm shocked anyone would even consider turning the Bulls deal down. The Bulls would laugh us out of the building.

We get a good back up at PG/SG/C and the perfect SF for this team.

I think the deal would be more reasonable for the Bulls if they got CV as well since he would be such a good fit. They could cover for his terrible defense with all the good defenders the Bulls have.

He has an eye for individual talent and the mastery of capology that one would expect from a math major, but the pieces never fit together and the fact that he wants to trade for Z-Bo shows that he has learned nothing about team-building in his years on the job. In fact, he seems to be continually regressing in that regard. If I thought he was improving I would forgive him for some past transgressions, but there is no sign that he is coming around.

Harris does not want to trade for Randolph.

The real question is who would give Deng even $10 million per when he becomes a FA? It doesn't really matter if Deng demands $15 million since no one will give him that. He wasn't worth that before the year and he's made no progress this year.

This summer Philly and the Hawks are the only team capable of clearing some space, but they've got their own young SFs they need to sign. Plus there are a ton of other FAs. I don't see anyone giving an RFA like Deng a huge offer, but maybe more teams will have space in 2009 when he's an UFA.

What's your cap situation, Nowak :)

To be clear, I'm sure some teams value him that highly, but I think the tendency is to assume players can always get what the maximum theoretical bidder would offer in a world without caps.
