THREE WAY TRADE for Marion...That's the deal

Post#1 » by heathmalc » Thu Feb 21, 2008 5:00 pm

Reports from Philadelphia and ESPN-850 say that the player the Cavaliers are trying to work a deal for is:

Shawn Marion....

in a three-team deal with Memphis.

Marion doesn't really do it for me.

He is a good player, but not the kind of guy who will put us over the top unless we're swapping him for someone like Hughes

LOL, as I heat fan, I could tell that's not happening. No legs.

Pat Riley is not trying to get Dwyane Wade to leave, and at the same time help Lebron James...

It's clear that Marion would be great, but who would Cleveland actually be giving up in that scenario? Larry wouldn't work for Memphis, and he's simply nowhere near as good as Marion, so I can't see the Heat wanting this trade to go through either.

I can only see this as the 2nd trade even though we didnt signify which trade would be the blockbuster and only assuming the blockbuster was 1st but we are probably waiting on the 1st trade which would give us a 1st rd pick. After that trade I see this happening:

Cle

Larry Hughes
Ira Newble
1st rd pick '08

for

Shawn Marion

Memphis

Kwame Brown
Mike Miller

for

Larry Hughes
Ira Newble
1st rd Pick Cle '08
future 1st rd pick Mia or 08 2nd rd

Mia

Shawn Marion
future 1st rd pick or '08 2nd rd

for

Kwame Brown
Mike Miller

So Cleveland soes this to get help for Lebron for a versatile post/wing. But in order to do it he Ferry is trying to move Drew for guard and pick(Sam Cassell- straight up/ Jamal crawford/ or with Pav or Simmons for Hinrich) or even Varrajao for Gordon since Bulls are putting him out there and fear he lose value next year.

Memphis does it for the picks but may have to throw in Lowry or Warrick because the deal looks a little too good for them.

Miami does it for the instant cap relief and the only people as interested in Mike Miller as the Cavs were Miami so they actually make out pretty good and get Haslem back in the starting lineup and pave the way to drafting Deandre Jordan or a PG.

I just got off the phone with my sources in the league and I have some new stuff for you all. To my knowledge, the mysterious blockbuster should be four way deal with us getting Dwight Howard and Chris Paul and sending Larry to Memphis. Whole deal now only depends on whether the Heat are going to give us their first for free...

Okay, this is kind of complicated, AND REMEMBER... they are still talking, but , that being said, this is what I have heard:

There will be two trades.

The First trade will consist of the Cavaliers sending Larry Hughes and Devin Brown to Miami for Shawn Marion and Daequan Cook.(CLE gets cook with trade exception)

The Second part of the trade involves Memphis:

Cleveland Sends out: Eric Snow to Miami and Dwayne Jones & 2008 1st rounder to Memphis

Cleveland gets Kyle Lowry and Brian Cardinal from Memphis

Miami Sends out Ricky Davis, Jason Williams & 2008 2nd round pick to memphis

Miami gets: Mike Miller

Memphis sends Cardinal, Lowry to Cleveland and Mike Miller to Miami

Memphis gets Jason Williams,Ricky Davis, Cle 2008 1st rounder, MIA 2008 2nd rounder
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When all is said and done:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cleveland gets:

Shawn Marion,Kyle Lowry,Brian Cardinal, Daequan Cook

Cleveland loses: Larry Hughes,Eric Snow,Devin Brown,Dwayne Jones, 2008 1st rounder

Miami gets: Mike Miller, Larry Hughes, Eric Snow,Devin Brown

Miami loses: Jason Williams, Ricky Davis, Shawn Marion, Daequaon Cook, 2008 2nd round pick

Memphis gets: Jason Williams, Ricky Davis,Dwayne Jones,2008 1st rounder & 2008 2nd rounder

Memphis loses: Mike Miller, Kyle Lowry, Brian Cardinal

This sucks for Miami unless Marion has told them he is opting out this summer and will not sign with them.

Sasha Vujacic = The Phail Machine = The Ring Blocker

Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.
