He really should keep it in house. Anyone who was the postgame knows he was taking shots at DH. Sounds to me that the ice might start to break on their relationship if he "keeps" this up. Coaches are hired to be fired...hope stan knows that.

Also, if anyone is going to catch blame...why not the 118 million dollar man????

Was Lewis guarding Bosh last night?

Nope look @ caldarones ='s he owned jameer and the ninja. Caldarone was picking us apart last night. He looked like Jason Kidd in 96' Throwing those lobs. as 4 bosh, dwight did have a good game but the reason that bosh went off is not cuz dwight CANT gaurd him. Dwight ( and bosh imo ) looked scared to pick up fouls last night. Everytime bosh got the ball in the post he did have the quicker 1st step 2 the hole but dwight never gave full effort in blocking the shot due 2 the fact of him not wanting to get called 4 the foul and sit down. Last nights game shows more than ever why we need 2 make a trade for a big man. just so we can throw him on the boshes of the NBA to hack when he drives to the basket and so he doesnt just get a free roam 2 do whatever he wants. P.S. Bosh looks like a raptor 4 real.

Im gonna paraphrase what i heard Stan say towards Dwight: "Bosh was incredible and we could'nt guard him. I thought Dwight was gonna be able to defend him but he could'nt, and everyone else who tried could'nt either. We could'nt defend at all."

I dont feel like he "ripped" him. Last week he ripped him. Last night? Nope.

Dwight needs to get some thicker skin if that kind of stuff bothers him...

Dwight should be the one to say,"I got torched tonight. Bosh did an excellent job and I couldn't stop him alone...but I had a pretty decent night also."

He said Bosh destroyed Howard, amongst other things I guess. I heard it on ESPN this morning. He can tell Dwight to play better defense but he needs to do it in the lockerroom, or at practice, not through reporters. He's been acting like this for awhile. He's gonna lose the team if he keeps it up. NBA players have fragile ego's, and they do not like being called out. ****, McGrady woulda just walked out on the team if Rivers pulled this ****. Were lucky Dwight has more resolve, but this has to stop.

Orlando Sentinel

Point guards got chewed out:

Point guards Jameer Nelson and Keyon Dooling sat next to each other in silence, their feet in ice buckets, cooling their emotions while their coach was still hot under his mock collar.

Stan Van Gundy stormed out of the locker room Wednesday night after the Orlando Magic (34-22) were dissected by the Toronto Raptors, 127-110, the wheels of his travel bag catching the corner of the door.

And he stated the obvious about Dwight's job on Bosh:

"There was not one thing they did that we could guard," Van Gundy said. "Chris Bosh, we could not guard. We have to think about double-teaming him next time. I thought Dwight Howard could guard him a little bit, but he obviously could not."

Howard just shook his head and bit his tongue even harder.

And the players acknowledged the problem.

"We watched film of [Calderon], and I thought it was on fast forward, but it was on regular speed," Howard said. "He's tough. We might see these guys in the playoffs, and we have to play better defense. They just exposed some of our weaknesses."

"They literally hit about anything they put up. Calderon controlled the tempo. A lot of it was our defense; we weren't showing on the pick-and-rolls and missed rotations. It was totally different than the defense we played against Detroit," said Rashard Lewis.

I don't see stating the obvious as airing dirty laundry or publically calling out a player. If anything, he called himself out. He indicated should have had Bosh double teamed, and he should have taught his team how to defend against the pick and roll.

And if we'd beat the Raps last night everyone woulda said how Dwight couldn't be stopped....

End of the day Bosh's supporting cast showed up, Dwight's didn't. Calderon will be an All Star one day...everytime I see him he has a great game and last night he just once again showed exactly what we need in our point guard rotation.

Agree 110%
Not coincidence the Magic always lose when opponents' guards (usually PGs) have good games, plus Bosh exposed some of Dwight's weaknesses on defense: he's not so good playing against big men who can shoot.

SVG is motivating players and what he says is accurate. If our players can't take constructive criticism they aren't going to take the next step. SVG is very fair and I think he has the players respect - he is not having tirades like former BHill who had no ones respect.

People on this board and the media are acting like some motivation is a bad thing - kissing someone's ass every second is worse than being honest with them and working with them to step it up - Dwight needs to step it up more even with being as good as he is - he has to take it to another level - I think he has another level and the turnovers need to come down - and Jameer certainly has another level, but he hasn't been willing to go there - Dooling is typically giving us the effort.

I guess it is hard to show up every night and a big let down after a big Detroit win is not unusual, but SVG wants these guys to go to the next level. The magic have been very good at being mediocre - SVG doesn't want them to settle for that - he is a phenomenal coach and I see no problems between Stan and the players - the Media needs something to talk about and many people here don't have a clue or misinterpret things.

Agreed.

I have no problem with SVG. I just hope the players don't become callus to his attempts at motivation as they did with BHill.

MagicMadness wrote:Did anyone happen to catch Chris Broussard on ESPN2 yesterday morning (or maybe it was just a repeat of a late Tuesday night SC)?

Here was a recap that I posted elsewhere:

The last thing Broussard said was "My source says, if SVG keeps this up, he might just lose his superstar."

I hate when people throw out BS like that to start some unfounded rumor to make it seem like they get the inside scoop. I'd like to choke the life out of Broussard just for saying it. Dwight isn't going anywhere. SVG has only "ripped" him once. I'm sure Dwights wouldn't leave over simple criticism either. **** Broussard in his lying ass.

when someone goes off for 40 on you, twice is bad and dwight deserved the criticism... he never said anything bad about his offense or rebounding, those numbers speak for themselves and i dont think it was so much bad defense just great offense from bosh...he hit a 3 are you kidding me
