I don't want to scare anyone, but this deal doesn't salary match. HOU doesn't appear to have TPE's either.
I hope this doesn't mean Chris Richard is included as well.
EDIT: As Hotspurs explained to me, the trade generates a TPE. So they could do this trade:
MIN TRADES: TPE for Snyder
This generates a $2.3 mil TPE for HOU.
THEN
HOU TRADES THE $2.3 mil TPE for Gerald Green
I hope this doesn't mean Chris Richard is included as well.

Green is much better than Brewer, Brewer will probably not be in the league after his rookie contract! Green could have been given some starts if the kid would have gotten 38 mins I think a lot of people would have been suprised. Remember Mo Evans who we let walk, similar type of games and look at how Mo has ended up he's pretty serviceable. I will probably get ripped on here but I don't care. Gerald Greens game puts people in the seats, not whittmans crappy style that puts most to sleep
Brewer out of the league? Give me a break. You realize there are REASONS that Green couldn't sniff playing time don't you? Besides, the FO already showed Green was part of the plan when they didn't pick up his option. This is WAY better than letting him walk.

When they put him out on the floor, he was lost on D. Took questionable shots, I've seen some that he put in that I was amazed, but then he'd come down the floor take that same jumper, heavily gaurded without looking to pass, and clank it hard off the rim. Point being, he looks for his shot only, and has a very bad BBall IQ. Too bad, he has some great hops.
"Dude, all I am saying is we already have a starting RB, his name is Chester Taylor. Besides AP isn't that good anyways. I hope we draft McFadden." --Me after he broke the record.

This makes me respect Wolve front office a little more. Again, they've tried to make a disgruntled player happy, not just by moving him, but by moving him someplace he wants to go. This is a nice thing to do, and better yet, it probably helps make MIN look a little more attractive to free agents. With our weather, we need all the help we can get!

What has brewer done? Look at ggs numbers last year.
If you were playing 5 on 5 with your buddies you tell me you'd rather have brewer than gg. Give me a break, Who is more exciting to watch?
We put up with wally for years with his poor defense, I would have been more than willing to put up with what you people think is terrible about gg, and let the kid learn on the job.
If Whittman is such a teacher why couldn't he teach gg.
you can't teach athleticisim

You answered your own question.
gold: Brewer will have a long career, simply because he can defend and do all the little things. Some GMs find "the little things" attractive, thats why Brian Scalabrine is still around (I don't mean that as an insult to Brewer if it comes off that way).
It's a shame GG never really got a chance here, but I'm glad the front office dealt him elsewhere and have at least given him the opportunity to go earn another contract.
Good luck to the Timberwolves.

I'm going to bring this down the my level, because I don't know the little ins and outs of the game like a pro does, but I'll put it this way, When you play 5 on 5;
Would you want the guy that looks at the floor when he dribbles, doesn't ever set a screen, and doesn't know what a 2-3 defense is or, would you want the guy who hustles his butt off, knows the 2-3, and looks to help the rest of you out on offense with screens and passes.

I agree gold0259. I think GG would be a nice shooter/scorer off the bench. Trouble is I don't think he is content with that. He's going to have to bounce around the league a few more years before he figures that out. I know he went home but I don't see him getting much time there either.
I really wish we could have traded him for a pick this year.

Dude, Brewer hasn't even finished his rookie season. I don't see why you need to pick on him just because you want Gerald to blow out more candles in Minneapolis.

lol, LeBron wanted help so the Cavs went out and got Wally and Ben Wallace. From ESPN News:
Ben Wallace, Joe Smith, Wally, and Delonte West to the Cavs
Duhon, Newble, and Marshall to Seattle
Larry Hughes, Gooden, and Simmons to the Bulls
Seattle pulls off another robbery, and Cavs get completely hosed.

I'm in the minority when I say that I think Gerald Green will make something of himself in the NBA. He isn't just the spoiled high schooler -- the guy works hard .. he just has a long way to go.
That said, I still don't think its a bad deal. Green may make it, but he isn't going to make it in the next 29 games, particularly since the Wolves have him locked to the bench. Getting a 2nd for the UFA is just fine with me.
