tk76 wrote:We actually will have about 15-16M in 2008 if we only resign Iguodala and Lou 9depends on what they sign for) but the point is valid.

Even if we don't make a splash this summer, we will be in great position next year, with a young team with tradable young assets and cap room. Every year all stars become available at 60 cents on the dollar (AI last year and Gasol this year.)

Give our young guys another year to improve their market value and keep some cap space/Millers expiring and we are primed to add a str to our promising young core.

We don't really have horrible contracts and our core is 19-26, so all's good if you are willing to be patient.

Exaclty, this team will still be in great shape next year. Ed has planned his chips very well, and everything is only brighter as days go passed. If anybody thought this team would have chance at a championship next year is dreaming. Just by a REBUILDING team making the playoffs is a bonus and gets our youngs some needed playoff experience.

Is ESPN reporting that the Sonics are trading 'Wally World'?

This will make the cavs instant contenders because thats how GOOD lebron james is and the reason why this deal was so big, because of Joe Smith. He will GREATLY help the cavs more then what people think.

I am not sure it makes anyone better really..I think it was just a trade to make a trade.

I am not convince Ben Wallace, Joe Smith, Delonte west and Wally is better than Hughes, Gooden, Newble and Donyell

Risky move for Cleveland. They picked up some decent players with horrible contracts. Their talent level is higher, but have less flexability to make other moves over the next few years.

Of course Lebron cancels out a lot of problems.

The Cavs would not have the flexibility anyway since Hughes, Big Z and James earned already their big share of money. As far as the trade is concerned, the Cavs made out like bandits. They got 4 players, who can contribute, for Hughes and Gooden. The former is playing atricious and Gooden is a dick...

I agree completey, gooden did NOTHING in the playoffs last year and hughes has always been a bust since he got to Clevland.

Now the question is what do we do in the offseason? What big player becomes available?

Kirilenko?
Brand?
Josh Smith?
Deng?

After this trade, Seattle has GOT to be under the cap - yes?

With no trades in hand, not that I expected any, how many games do you guys think we will win out of the remaining 27? My guess is 9 or 10. That number probably doesn't get us in the playoffs. If we don't get in, was it worth not moving Miller now? Just wondering your thoughts?

To me there are def 12 winnable games left for us:

Miami
Clippers
Seattle
Milwaukee
Chicago
New Jersey
Chicago
New Jersey
Atlanta
Atlanta
Indiana
Washington
Charlotte

If we win these that should be enough to get in and that doesn't include if we get an upset or two.

We should have found a way to get a Joe Smith like player. With him or Thomas I think we could have gotten the 6th seed and with Orlando statying pat I think we could have taken them in a 7 game series. I just hope we make the playoffs now cause if we dont I think it will be a huge missed oppurtunity for our young players.
Andre Miller is a bad 3pt shooter.

I say 13, if they can't go 500 the rest of the way they don't deserve to be in.
Don't worry, that builds character and you can never have too much character...
