The Suns have a trade exception, which they acquired in the trade of Kurt Thomas to Seattle, that would allow Phoenix to acquire Artest without including other players in the deal. To make it happen, the Suns would likely have to include the first-round pick they acquired from Atlanta.

At the risk of sounding over confident, I worry very little about the Suns, with or without Ron Artest.

He would likely take PT away from Hill, who has been playing fantastic for them. And having both Ron and Bell on the floor at the same time is just redundant.

All in all, I think the Suns' window has closed. True, they are still a great team that can beat any team in the league on any given night, but in a seven games series I just don't see them beating us, or many of the other top tier teams in the league.

OT: Gerald Green traded to his Hometown

Post#63 » by CDB » Thu Feb 21, 2008 7:53 pm

Rockets Bring Gulf Shore's Green Back to Houston

HOUSTON -- Minnesota Timberwolves guard Gerald Green tells FOX 26 Sports he has been traded to his hometown Houston Rockets for guard Kirk Snyder and a second-round draft pick.

Green, in his third year in the NBA, went to Gulf Shores Academy High School in Houston. He was drafted in the first round out of high school by the Boston Celtics.

"It's like a dream come true. Never in my life did I think this would happen," Green said. "I am on cloud nine."

Green was traded by Boston to Minnesota in that blockbuster deal involving Kevin Garnett.

He won the Slam Dunk Title in 2007 and was runner-up in 2008.

I would rather have the Warrirs, Nuggets. Mavericks, Hornets, or Spurs play them first if the somehow got artest, but time is ticking very fast they have 20 minutes until the trade deadline.

This is why they traded Bonzi and James away. They shed salary and now they have Green and Jackson, not bad.

NBA.com: Deadline passes with little fanfare

Today's trade deadline just passed and at least one trade is official so far. The Hornets, Rockets and Grizzlies teamed up on a three-way trade earlier today.

The New Orleans Hornets announced today that they have acquired guard/forward Bonzi Wells, guard Mike James, and cash considerations from the Houston Rockets in exchange for guard Adam Haluska, guard Bobby Jackson, forward Marcus Vinicius and a 2008 second round pick. As part of the three-team deal, the Memphis Grizzlies will receive Vinicius, the rights to Malick Badiane and cash considerations in exchange for the rights to Sergei Lishouk.

Think about this thread a little .

To make a decent trade for players like Shaq , Kidd , KThomas , Artest etc .
They give up a lot to obtain these players , and as you have seen the Suns have basically lost a step by acuiring Shaq and giving away Marion .

The only team that has made a significant impact on a trade has been the Lakers with aquiring Pau.

We gave away garbage and basically got one of the best all around center that has a high B.Ball I.Q , knows the game and is a team player .

Add up the issues of Artest , being a head case , not a team player .

Add up Shaqs age and his overweight problem , his huge contract .

Add up J.Kidds age , huge contract , his ability to play with 2 other talented players in Dallas .

Add up SA Spurs window that is closing on them day by day , they gave up a sharp shooter in Berry , they took on a big contract .

I think we got the best deal out of all these trades , we got a solid player and we didnt give up Jackish to get him and he has made this team without having Bynum or Ariza into a contender .

So again I dont care and I wouldnt care who trades for Artest or Shaq .
All I know is that the Lakers are balling night in night out and we still have some fire power that we havent used until we get to the playoffs .

I think the entire league is more scared of us now than we are of them .
The funny part is its only mid season and as you can see Pau is gelling with this team and Kobe game by game .

Its scary how this team is getting .

But back to Artest , there is no trade or talks of trade going on by the Kings for Artest whatsoever and you guys need to trust me on this .

REAL GM: Reports are trickling in from papers in Philadelphia, Miami and Indiana that the Sixers, Heat and Pacers let the deadline pass without making a trade.

Toronto Star -

Juan Dixon has been traded by the Toronto Raptors , but he still doesn't know where his final destination will be.

It will be a one-for-one deal with some cash likely involved.
