A Conversation overheard in Kohls Office

Ron Walter: Sir, Larry Harris wants to see you, He says he found another trade offer.

Herb Kohl: Harris eh? Who is he?

RW: One of your employees in the Personnel Management section. You've appointed him General Manager.

HK: I dont recall him. How long has he worked here?

RW: 18 years sir. His dad Del used to work here until he resigned as coach and then left as VP after your "mutual agreement" with him. You also told Larry to go tell everyone that he was sticking by Terry Porter. Then you had Porter fired. He continually brings trades you reject.

HK: Ah, Excellent. It sure was funny when we pulled that Porter prank on him.

RW: Indeed it was sir.

HK: Alright let him in.

*Larry Harris Enters*

Larry Harris: Hi Mr Kohl. I have another trade proposal for you. It Involves the Knicks and Zach Randolph.

HK: Alright set it on my desk and ill get back to you in a little while.

LH: Ok Mr. Kohl, I'll go back and see if I can find any more deals.

*Larry Harris Leaves*

RW: Sir I thought you already rejected his ideas to take Zach Randolph. Why are you considering this one?

HK: Im not Walter, I just wanted to see if he believed I'd actually listen to another one of his ridiculous ideas.

RW: Arent you going to tell him that you arent interested in taking Randolph in any deal?

HK: Not yet. How long do you think it will be until he catches on?

RW: Im not sure he ever will unless you tell him sir.

HK: Excellent. Bring him back in.

*Larry Harris Re-Enters*

LH: You wanted to see me Mr. Kohl?

HK: Yes Larry. I wanted to let you know that I do not approve of this deal.

LH: Oh I'm sorry sir. I'd like to get you a better offer Mr. Kohl. It's just, as you know, the trade deadline is coming up today and i'm almost out of time.
Image

HK: Yes I'm aware of that. I'll tell you what I'm going to do, I'm going to give David Stern a call and get you permission to continue talking to the Knicks throughout the rest of the day to work on a deal.
Image

LH: Really Mr. Kohl? Oh thank you so much, I promise I will get you an offer you like this time.

*Larry Harris leaves the room*

RW: I love you sir.

HK: What??

RW: Err, I said I love how you're an evil genius sir.

HK: Ah, Excellent.

Try to work in a "Why is everyone so insolent today" line from Kohl and I'll laugh even harder.

Good job......

Unfortunately it is all true.....I used to hesitate to compare Kohl to Monty Burns but now feel the comparison is all too accurate.

Good stuff. Myself, lately I've been seeing Kohl as the NBA's version of Al Davis.
