The hope now is we can land a Barry/Anthony Johnson/vet that gets a settlement after the deadline. Man, I don't see how this front office can put so many cards into winning this season (Shaq, Hill, move picks,...) and then fail to grab a guy like Ross for essentially a guy ike Tucker or future 2nd. Now, if LAC wanted the Atlanta pick, I can understand but there has to be someone out there making $1-3 million we could use a TPE on that would help more than Linton.

Would've liked to have added Ross or Pietrus, but at the same time, I don't think they are players that would get us over the hump. Ross is a great defender, and hustle guy, but he can be an offensive liability at times. Pietrus is a decent defender, and can score in spurts, but isn't always a reliable scoring option.

Maybe a bit of good news for you and the suns fans.
ESPN said that since LAC was unable to trade Cassell, there's a 50/50 chance that he'd agree to a buy-out and become a free agent

That's bad news because I think he goes to Boston if he's bought out.

The 2005-06 Suns will always have a special place in my heart

LOL, so youre going to judge our defense and 3 point shooting by the first game with shaq?
Defensively, absolutely. We knew all along Shaq can't defend the pick and roll. It's pretty clear Amare can't guard Gasol or Odom. This isn't going to change overnight. Our guards went under the screen time after time and LA has way too many good shooters to keep doing that. What am I missing? How can you not be terrified of our defense?
As far as shooting goes, we have 3 guys right now that can space the floor and knock down 3s. 3. On our whole roster. If you're bringing in Shaq, why not surround him with guys that can space the floor and knock down shots? Put it this way, when Boris Diaw is hanging out on the perimeter and shootings 3s, that's a problem. We are still going to be really good offensively. But it may turn out we have to be insanely good because getting stops is going to be a huge issue.

I agree with mkot here - didn't he already state somewhere that he would strongly consider signing with Boston in case he gets bought out? Pretty sure that it got mentioned before.
Anyway, thanks for the news, shrink. Guess we most likely would be one of the teams he would consider in case of a buyout, and who knows, maybe we're lucky that time
