Otis is the easy target here, but we have no idea what company line he was made to tow. I'm upset there wasn't a deal too, but this could easily fall on the shoulders of ownership. I think I'd be more happy having Cuban as our owner rather than a gm replacement. I do believe we failed today, but its tough to figure out who is the most to blame. Time will tell I suppose.

i find it amazing that we didnt do anything with $13-17mill in expirings, with several needs, most importantly a big, plus the fact that many teams were looking to rebuild..oh well cook will be a monster in the playoffs

I am an Otis supporter, but this is very disheartening . I didn't expect him to make a blockbuster deal , but he could have added another solid piece to our team . I really have no idea what he's thinking here .

Well hopefully Fran comes over next season . Battie will be back so with those 2 we will be good at PF . I would use our MLE on a guy like Josh Childress which would help us at SG . Our PG situation is still gonna be horrible though . If we resign Arroyo's useless ass I'm gonna be pissed . Evans and Dooling are the only 2 expirings I would resign .

Those expiring contracts were a huge asset and we have nothing to show for it . Very disheartening

his plan has turned into a 50 win season. people act like we are headed to the finals with someone like haslem or wilcox.

So we get 50 wins and get knocked out in the 2nd round (but we keep Arroyo, Garrity, Augustine). Ok if that makes you happy.

Or we get 55 wins and maybe win a championship or the Eastern conference finals (but we don't keep Arroyo, Garrity and Augustine) - we pick up Thomas or Wilcox.

Maybe we give up JJ - JJ is the only one who can play out of that group.

Why be mediocre - we have a gaping hole at PF - we could have fixed it by giving up our trash - our trash was worth something, now it is once again trash. You have an asset you use it - it is no longer an asset.

Darko was an asset - it was not used and it could have been.

Ariza was an asset and poorly used, but at least it was used.

OTIS screwed up big time. Stop making excuses for him.

Thief: you are right. We don't know what was on the table. But we do know what we had: expirings. And we did nothing with them.

I don't want to touch the Darko comment beause I still think Otis screwed that up. He did just average 11ppg, 10.6rpg, and 2bpg over a 5 game stretch. But I don't want to get into that.

And, Darko would be much better alongside Howard - Howard makes everyone better.

When you have 13+ millions in expirings and at least two glaring holes in your roster you don't pass the chance on fixing at least one of those holes because you don't wanna part with JJ or a low 20's pick according to reports.

Now we've just lost over 13 millions in trade assets and still have the same glaring holes.

San Antonio and Dallas are real teams - I think they had winning records and they were willing to move a 3rd string PG - I heard the Kurt Thomas deal fell through because Otis was afraid to include our 3rd string PG. Why are you defeding Otis - you know it was totally ignorant not to make a move with expirings and keeping Garrity, Arroyo, etc. - you know those players are no good.

A deal could have been done dumping those two and including a first round pick or JJ or both.

A true PF would have put us in contention - you are too smart not to know that and you know the expirings are now worthless to us - you have a pretty high bball IQ - why are you defending Otis?

There was a Sentinel Article that said the Kurt Thomas to Orlando was held up because Otis would not include Arroyo in the trade. If Arroyo was included in the trade that we were comfortable with then we have Kurt Thomas. I'd rather we got Wilcox, but Thomas would have been good.
