Tell me why we didn't get Kurt Thomas from Phoenix
The Bobcats wanted another big man so desperately they traded 2 expiring contracts to get a big salary in Mohammad. Why didn't they pursue Kurt Thomas from Phoenix? Check out what Seattle ended up with because of Kurt Thomas:
Check this out: Seattle originally yielded a second-round pick to Phoenix in the preseason while agreeing to take on Thomas' salary in addition to a pair of first-rounders from Phoenix. Adding that to the haul they received from San Antonio, the Sonics have ultimately netted a trio of first-round picks as well as Francisco Elson, Brent Barry and cash -- all for one conditional second-round draft choice.
So they got 3 first round picks and more for picking up Kurt Thomas.

It's not like this was that long ago...
Phoenix' motivation for dealing Thomas was to lose his salary totally, meaning not take anyone back in return. After we traded the pick for JSwish WE DIDN'T HAVE THE AVAILABLE CAPSPACE.
One year rental (that would have helped) vs. adding a core player.
Seattle used their TE from the Lewis trade and that's how they were able to acquire Thomas as well as those two (late) picks.

I wouldn't.

I wouldn't either.
And I assume all those first rounders are late first round picks. Seeing as how we can't find good players with high lottery picks, I don't have too much faith in us finding good players with picks in the 20's.

I also wouldn't. What the hell are a bunch of projects and late 1st round picks going to do for us at this point? We needed a veteran starting scorer and we got that in J-Rich. What we need is a starting quality big man to play off of Okafor. We'd also need some quality depth and don't forget, a good coach.

because our front office is not smart. Hell we hired Stupid as a coach, why do you think they could have thought of something like that. We could have done many similar things over the past few years under the cap. But no. Didn't we pay the league money last season because we were below the min cap? We could have taken contracts and picks last year as well.

Using this line of reasoning we should have S&T Crash to Detroit so we could have FOUR late 1st round picks (guaranteed salary) and we could S&T Mek to Philly this upcoming season for their 2009 pick and Carney.
Think of all the free cap space we'd have to not be able to attract free agents!!!
A winning franchise does not happen overnight, nor is the way paved in gold. You do it a piece at the time.

That's two things in a row you've said that I agree with strongly
