Why is Rafer Alston still playing?

Post#1 » by Monkeyfeng06 » Thu Feb 21, 2008 11:04 am

damn, is houston nuts? this guy is terrible... sure, he can dribble and do some flashy passes but that's it.. he's a terrible shooter and he isn't a chemistry guy. only if houston can get a decent PG, they will be pretty damn good. half the time, i'm just sick of watching rafer alston play... even after the game, all houston fans do is complain about rafer alston.

examples:

"THANKS FOR THE AIRBALL 3 RAFER!!!"
"ALSTON SUCKS"
"PUT IN BROOKS!!!"

yes.... please pull the plug and let rafer alston back to his street game.

Alsotn is playing very well lately and do you really think we had the chance to upgrade but we didn't?
For 3 years we just signed one year rentals and gambled on players with bad contracts.
One of the reasons we did the Bonzi trade is to get rid of James , now we don't have bad contracts and next year with Jackson's expiring contract some assets that we have and some draft picks we might finally be able to upgrade.

Moronic thread. Rafer Alston has lately been averaging 15pts 7assists on 45% shooting, and is one of the biggest reasons the Rockets are riding a 9 game winning streak right now despite McGrady going through a slump.

because whenever a team that he is playing for goes up against the Magic, they need someone who can drop 20 points on them, which included going 5/5 from the 3 point line, disregarding the fact that he's a 22% career 3 point shooter...

he has improved a lot since last year, but i don't think he is a pg for a contender team, i would like us to trade for andre miller who is better passer and a decent shoter.

Rafer Alston is the best ever PG in practice. He can beat out anyone in this league in practice. Coaches love him.

Rafer is not only playing, but he is starting no matter who you bring in as PG.

What are you talking about?

He's played great for us in the recent weeks averaging nearly 14 points and 6+ assists. On the season he's averaging over 12 points per game and nearly 6 assists. Not to mention he's a decent man defender and gets into the passing lanes. Frankly I've never really seen him try any of those "streetball" moves as he's been a Rocket.

I agree with him not being starter material but to say he doesn't deserve to be in the league is stupid.
