Poor Officiating? Please.
You guys shot 30 freethrows, we shot 26. You guys had 22 fouls, we had 24.
Hardly poor officiating. Amare was on Odom all night for offensive rebounds and no one called that.
Thoughts after Shaq's 1st game....

anyone who doesnt think the officiating was poor obviously didnt watch this game
@ patterns - equal fouls does not equal fair umpiring
some of the calls were laughable, not the least of which was the jump ball between shaq and gasol in the 4th that they said was off of the suns when it went out of bounds? madness.
then the blocking foul called on shaq, but gasol does the exact same thing on an amare drive at the other end with no call??????
and thats just small examples, there were shocking calls both ways and in general the umpiring crew was just not up to oficiating a game of this standard

Sorry guys, but the reality is that without the number of angles that are available to the actual NBA refs, we're pretty much left to speculate on many, if not most, of the calls that we don't like. The best you can hope for is an equal number of fouls being called. I'm sure that for example you can come up with as a Suns fan, a Lakers fan can do the same e.g. Amare barging into Nash, Lakers called for the foul.

check the jump ball call and tell me the ref wasnt in a good enough position
??
the amare pushing nash call over was TERRIBLE too, youll see i said it was terrible BOTH ways, because it was. That umpiring crew was just not up to such a big game

I think it's interesting that Laker fans seem to think that when Bynum comes back he is just going to jump right back into the rythum he had before his injury. He is still a very young player and he has been out awhile. His team has changed since he left. You don't really know what player you will get when he comes back. The inconsistent Bynum that we all knew before this year or the one we saw before his injury. He doesn't have the body of work behind him to ensure that he is going to be the same player.

Why is this so hard to comprehend? If Suns fans can think that Shaq will go full steam ahead like this the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs, why is it so 'interesting' (or worse) to think that Bynum will have an easy (or better) transition back into the Lakers?
Bynum had nothing less than a breakout year. Do you know what that means? It means that he shed the inconsistent title that people harped on him about last year. Which means that, barring his body failing him (sounds familiar to you Suns fans, doesn't it?), Bynum will re-enter an offense that now has improved interior passing, improved outside shooting, and more opportunities to operate in the post like Dwight Howard does i.e. beasting the glass for easy putbacks and catching over the top for alley-oops.
So really, is it that complicated a notion to think that the Lakers will be better upon Bynum's return, just like the Suns are upon Shaq's introduction?
