The pieces they acquired seem to fit in well too. They didnt go out and get anyone that is going to disrupt there flow and make them change the way they play everyone will fit right in.

West/Gibson/Snow
Wally/Pavlovic/Gibson/Brown
James/Pavlovic/Wally
Wallace/Smith/Varaejo
Z/Varaejo/Smith

This makes them pretty deep at every position with there weakest (depth wise) being SF but since LeBron plays around 40 minutes a game thats not a big issue.
Go Knicks!

I think they got better at what they needed. Wallace can change the game defensively and is overall a better rebounder than Gooden. And West and Wally will definitely space the floor out and contribute more than Marshall has recently.

Along with that they acquired Joe Smith who has played exceptionally well this season. I think overall they slightly improved. Hughes has been playing well recently but he's too inconsistent.

On Chicago's side I don't see the reasoning in this deal.

lebron is going to make these guys better, just give him some time
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

Gooden and most of all Hughes didn't play too well with Lebron. West, Wally, and Wallace all have games that fit nicely with bron's.

On the flip side, why did the Bulls do this? I really don't get it from their pov. They got rid of wallace's contract but added hughes to a lineup that is already pretty strong in the back court. This just leave Noah starting at center.

We did it because Wallace was killing the development of Noah/Thomas/Gray. Wallace would play 40 minutes of nothing and have a line 2 pts and 6 rebounds and would get praise from our coach even though we lost because he was scared of making Wallace mad. Hughes was pretty much a throw in to match Wallace in this trade. If Hughes can contribute in anyway great, but there are others who'll play if he decides to slack. Bulls know this season is pointless, so we need to see more development from our young guys and see what we got from there.

It has potential to be a good team, or a very bad team present or future wise, especially with the contracts they have traded for.

It's a gamble; they through all their chips in, and if this doesn't work, they lose Lebron James in 2010.

Pretty sure now the Cavs have 25 million in expirings next year and close to 35 million expiring the year after if both Varjao and Z sign their player options.

All before Lebrons player option year.

If this trade doesn't work out they aren't nearly as bad $$$ situation as some people think.

Potentially 55-60 million off the books in 2 years? not bad

They definitely improved. Wally fills a need of another 3 point shooter. Delonte West is a PG who fits well and Big Ben will provide Defence and Rebounding
