GM options for next year?

Post#1 » by barbados73 » Fri Feb 22, 2008 4:27 pm

I am going on the assumption that Larry Harris won't be back, and that the Bucks will be looking for a new GM. With that being said, I was wondering if there are any GM canidates that Kohl would give more power to than he did with Harris. I'm trying to think of the guys like Grunfield was that had a proven track record. Hopefully Kohl will realize that going the cheap way for both the GM and head coach is not working. The only time the Bucks have been any kind of good lately is when the had the proven coach and GM together. So who is out there???

It's not going to matter that much unless Kohl alters his philosophy. And given his age and the fact that he's likely going senile (along with not knowing much about the game to begin with) that is extremely unlikely.

Ettore Messina?

We need to get somebody who knows basketball and will have a clear vision in mind. We also need someone who doesn't know much about Herb Kohl. And, as a bonus, we get a leg up on the competition in an undervalued market. Go get Messina in some capacity, then sign a couple of the top Euro players to 3 year deals (Siskauskas, Diamantidis, Papaloukas?). Flip whoever doesn't fit the vision for cap flexibility and cohesive depth.

There is already a thread on potential GM's
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
