And according to some announcers, the G is pronounced K.

A few alternative spellings of how I think it's pronounced, all three same pronunciation:

Gah-saul
Gah-sawl
Gasaulle

The last part is definitely like saying soul. I've heard Kobe say Gas-al.

I think the problem for american's is we do not learn the proper english sounds. I took a college course called english and pronunciation. I basically was required to study the proper ways to speak the english language. It was the most awkward thing in the world. Sitting and reading children's books with a horrible english accent at least that is how I felt.

So for the Ga and Sol comment about it being obvious...it really isn't for americans. Because we do not use proper english.

For example here are three words that have 3 different sounds for the Ga...

Garden
Gas
Gator (as in alligator)

To simply put Ga means very little to americans. For an example of how messed up the english language is...most americans (more so from the south) say the word like this owl-i-gay-der. Nothing like the word is spelled. We could use a little more time on word structure in our early school years.

Even the gasoline line. I've heard it a couple ways. Some say Gas-so-lean ... Ga-so-lean ... Gas-uh-lean.

We just don't have a solid structure over here.

And after reading through this thread I think I'm more confused than ever about his name...haha...just kidding.

i don't know who said it was Ga-Soul, but that is not how you say it, the correct pronounciation of it is Ga-Sole, like snaq mentioned. In Spain, using corrct spanish, that is how its said. Ga-soul is how white people(non spanish speaking) say it here.
