...usually when he is "bashed" by the commentators, they usually compare players in the effort catagory to vince...they don't say whether or not he saved the franchise, or that he didn't help the community, or that he was a bad player...

...it's a matter of whether or not he brings it each night, and as far as chuck, leo and jack go (the three that do games) they feel that vince could have gave a little more effort in his tenure in toronto...

...well, you guys have watched him for three years, do you agree or not?...is the day-in day out effort there?...most raptors fans will agree that it wasn't (when he was with toronto) and that's what upsets them...

You aren't kidding anyone, especially ME. I followed the franchise since it's innagural season. Toronto was headed in the same direction as Vancouver until VC came onto the scene and put people in the seats. If you suggest anything different, you're in denial!

This topic, as well as many others that state the words VC/Toronto is a nest for the raptrolls to come in and show their true colors. Toronto's announcers are homers. I rank them among the worst 3 in the league, behind only Boston.

The funny thing is that Vince Carter Charity game in Toronto , for all those years , except the last year he was traded. All the tickets got sold out and all the ticket money goes to charity.

What does that prove other than he drew more fans? That is very different from saving the franchise as you imply.

Are you really that thick? What do you call a 400k-700k swing? The media flocking to Toronto on a nightly basis? A player whose fanbase extended all around the world? He saved your failing franchise at that point. The fact that it's been 4 years and Toronto still hasn't reached the attendance levels of the VC era at its peak speaks volumes.

You guys can dislike the Toronto media & fans for their overzealous hate of Vince Carter (I do) but to then stretch that to saying the Toronto Raptors franchise was floundering pre/post VC is hyperbole and untrue.

Like I said before The Raptors were top 10 in the NBA for most seasons pre-VC and have been top 10 in the NBA for every season after VC.
There is a solid fan base / Business community & Ownership in tact and Toronto is one of the more secure franchises in the NBA.

and arguing post-VC attendance isn't as high is looking at a meaningless stat if you don't see that attendance in the NBA in general over that time isn't as high in practically all markets and same can be said in sports in general.

You don't have to bash a franchise to prop up VC. I like both VC and the Raps and they are both doing well enough thank you very much despite what people say about either (ironic huh).

I hate & don't understand why people want to tear down another person/thing just to prop up "their" guy. I hate it when Rap fans do it to VC and also vice-versa.

on a show last night on The Raptors TV network, all this talk about how Kobe is selfish and ungreatful because he was asking for a trade last season during the summer and now that his team is playing well, u dont hear him ask for a trade, and Bonzi Wells, they jus said the dude has no class and is a headcase in the locker room, ask the houston players how much there gonna miss bonzi, are the raptors commentators that mad that he torched there defenders earlier in the season or something

I'm not the biggest Chuck fan myself. His catch phrases get to me. They do make the game a bit more exciting, I guess I will admit.

Chuck is a lot better - very knowledgeable on all sports - on his daily radio show.

No offense, but I really don't like his freakin' commercials, his lines, and his voice... onions?? His phrases get to me, but in the wrong kinda way, make me nauseas. I don't mind Leo and the rest of them..
