Will Ben Gordon Get Paid?

Post#1 » by Flash3 » Fri Feb 22, 2008 8:46 pm

Given that Ben Gordon was offered a deal around the range of $55M over 5 or 6 years, but rejected it seems funny now.

But, will anyone be willing to pay him that much come this off-season?

He's a restricted FA, but Larry Hughes will more than likely adopt that 2G role if/when Gordon is traded/not resigned.

he will, but I dont think he will get the $55 nor do i think he'll get 5 or 6 years...which IMO is overpriced...anything more than 5/40 is too much...

I'm just not a fan of him. 6 foot scorer who best plays off the bench thinks he's worth more then 10 mill per year? idiot

Gilbert Arenas said it best, when he called him out for rejecting that contract extension. I don't think Ben Gordon is going to see anything close to what was offered by the Bulls.

I hope not.

Come back to Chicago Gordon, you're $10M a year deal is still on the table, and we'll even give you an extra year to make it 6/60 instead of 5/50.

I actually hope he doesnt get paid that much either. Kind of messed up, but come on Ben...youre not worth as much as you think you are. You shoulda taken the money!! $55 million is sitting happy for the rest of your life. No doubt Ben will still get alot of money, but not $55 mil.

Gilbo was right...talkin about Andre Igoudala, Emeka, Deng and Gordon...all good players, but they arent superstars and dont deserve superstar money unless a team pulls a joe johnson and overpays one of them.

Its funny how Emeka wants dwight howard money when his impact is nowhere near dwight howards...Emeka does get good numbers however, but hes no dwight howard.

He'll test the market and find out the best deal possible is the one we'll be offering. No team has the same need of him as we do. He's simply more useful for us than he will be for any other team.

We'll offer him either 5yr/$50M or 6yr/$60M and he won't see a single offer better than that. Let him take the QO and be disappointed again the following season if necessary. We'll be ready.

I don't know what was in the water last year with those guys turning down very fair (and overpriced) contract extensions. Igoudala and Okafor especially. At least Gordon/Deng played for a playoff team.

Chicago would STILL offer him 5/50?? I'd sign and trade the tiny man.

I'll give this to Gordon. He's still sick in the clutch. But man can this guy chuck.

I was never much of a fan of Gordon's, if he'd shut up and embrace his role as a sixth man he'd be amazing though.

Whoa Whoa Whoa, slow down.

Now many of us fans have speculated that he doesn't like his 6th man role. I challenge you to find a quote of him publically stating his displeasure with it. You can't. He's kept his mouth shut and played.

Wow!

But, b/w Iggy, Gordon, & Okafor; I'd think Iggy would definitely be seeing that sort of money again, if not a tad more here or there.

any team who does give him that type of money would be disappointed and will probably look to trade him 2-3 years into the deal.

anything above 7.5-8 mill a year is undeserving really.. think about it, Al Jefferson and Kevin Martin are getting around 10 mill per year.. Gordon isn't as good as them.. 8 mill for an undersized chucker is more than enough..

He'll regret not taking the Bulls offer... I bet he plays for the QO and hopes to cash in as a UFA.

he's gonna be a broke ass gaa like Spree....

Take the money son, it's sitting on the table..

You're not a point, u're a 6'2 scorer...unless you're AI u won't get paid..

I hate when these ppl dont take the money..55 is a lot of money for a small guard who scores and who can't defend bigger guys
