Get Magloire Now!

Post#1 » by SIXERGOD » Fri Feb 22, 2008 11:09 pm

This is a guy who can start at PF, especially for this team that is in the playoff hunt. He can come off the bench or start at the 4. He is a former All-Star and could be very useful for this team IMO. He was waived by the nets today, a team that is clearly trying to miss the playoffs and go in another direction.

I would sign him to a deal for the rest of the season as a big man off of the bench. He'll probably get similar offers from other teams and pick the team with the best chance to win.

Why do you think he hasn't played for NJ all year and now they are releasing him? Because he is done that's why...can't believe this guy actually made an all star team.

I have no interest in Magloire. He just got waived from a roster deprived of big men... I really don't think he'd be a step up over anyone currently getting minutes at the 4/5 (Daly, Young, Smith, Evans).

I don't think he's washed up.

When he gets minutes, he produces. Plain and simple.

Look at his game log for this season and notice how when he gets over 15 minutes he averages 8 rebounds/game. When he plays less than 15, he averages significantly less. I have no idea why the Nets weren't playing him since he produced when they did. If he'll sign, I say go for it.

I'd rather give one of the young PFs that were cut a look. Never saw the infatuation with Magliore, and I don't think he helps this team.

I completely agree. Well said, comrade.

Magloire is in fine shape. Nobody would suggest he's any kind of answer.... But I'd be happy to add him.... Stefanksi has NJ connections with him, so maybe.... But as mentioned, he will probably sign with a real contender instead.

That said, I'd support signing Justin Williams and/or Fazekas as well... None of these guys will be difference-makers.... But considering Shav and Amundson are virtually mummies on the bench, taking a flyer on a new big body certainly couldn't hurt us.

Exactly !!!!

So, he knows better than anyone what his capabilities are. If he decides against picking him up I guess we will have to trust him.

What I cant believe is how bad was the East that Magloire made the allstar game with basically the same stats as Sammy D has this year.
He averaged 13.6p 10.4 reb 1.2 b while Sammy is averaging 11P 10 reb 2.5 b while shooting better and averaging .75 less to's.
Andre Miller is a bad 3pt shooter.

If Iggys your dream teram SG in that lineup I guess it would be my nightmare. I love Iggy but with those teammates Kobe has to be the SG in that lineup.

doing a quick google search on Magloire, it seems like he could be moving to Dallas soon. It makes sense considering Magloire is still pretty good and Dallas is thin at the C position now that Diop is gone. He just got outplayed by younger legs in NJ (Boone, Williams). Magloire isn't the fastest but he still has size and rebounding potential.

yea i def see him going to Dallas...but i wouldnt mind @ all if we brought him in here.He could back up Sammy and he can somewhat score in the low post...he a helluva upgrade from Calvin Booth or Amundson.
