Amir still shoots the ball from his chest though, that's one thing he really should be working on. Just copy Sheed. I would alos hope that he's working on a couple go-to low post moves. A running hook is very underrated and unblockable.

I don't think his shot is *that* big of a concern. I mean, I'd rather he had a high release, but I'm not gonna fret over it. Shawn Marion has the same sort of ugly release and he manages to get it off just fine. As long as he's a threat to drive his man will have to play off him a bit. And like was stated, we don't really want him shooting a lot of jumpers anyway.

I'd rather he continued to focus is efforts on improving his defense and developing a low post game.

Chauncey Billups had 21 points and 12 assists to lead the Detroit Pistons to a 127-100 rout of the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night.

Detroit's offense kept rolling in the third, putting up 35 more points and reaching triple figures in the final minute of the quarter. The Pistons had 23 assists and four turnovers in the first three quarters, including a 12-1 ratio for Billups.<

Notes:@ Pistons G Juan Dixon was in uniform, one day after being acquired from Toronto for Primoz Brezec, and entered the game with 3:05 left. ... Desmond Mason and Milwaukee coach Larry Krystowiak both picked up technicals for arguing a call with 7:07 left in the third quarter. Wallace hit both free throws, then made both shots for the original foul, giving him a four-point possession and putting Detroit up by 25. ... Detroit went into the All-Star break with a 10-game winning streak but had lost two straight since returning, including a 103-98 defeat at Milwaukee on Wednesday.

Charlie Villanueva and Michael Redd led Milwaukee with 18 points apiece.

STUDS: Chauncey Billups put together one of his more complete games of the season, scoring 21 points to go with 12 assists - both game highs. The Bucks continue to get solid production out of Charlie Villanueva, who had 18 points.SOLID: Rasheed Wallace made his presence felt at both ends of the floor, and from the bench. He had 17 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots. And when the bench players let the Bucks cut the Pistons' lead down to 14 points with less than six minutes to play, Wallace lit into them. They responded by finishing the game with an 18-5 run.

DUDS: Rodney Stuckey struggled shooting the ball - he missed six of his seven attempts - but he still managed to get five assists. Michael Redd had 18 points, but he was a non-factor all game. An 85 percent free throw shooter, he missed three in a row after being fouled on a 3-point attempt.SUPER SUB: It may be too late for the Amir Johnson for Sixth man of the year campaign, but the Pistons don't mind. He has been the team's most effective backup lately, with his energy, hustle and defense. He had a season-high 13 points on Friday, along with six rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocked shots.

UP NEXT: Sunday at Phoenix. Dealing with Phoenix's run-and-gun style is tough enough. Now, the Pistons will have to contend with newly acquired Shaquille O'Neal. And to top it off, the Pistons are down one big man following the Primoz Brezec trade. This is a winnable game, but it won't be easy.

Amir Johnson might not be content being the fourth big man in the Pistons' rotation. The way he has played recently, he's starting to press for some of Jason Maxiell's minutes. "He's leapfrogging every game," said coach Flip Saunders. "Every game he plays he picks up something else and he keeps getting better."

Johnson and fellow reserve Arron Afflalo -- with notable assistance from veterans Rasheed Wallace and Chauncey Billups -- triggered a huge second-quarter burst that sent the Pistons on their way to a 127-100 victory over the Bucks, ending their two-game losing streak.

But this one was spurred by youthful, bountiful energy of Johnson. He scored a season-high 13 points, with six rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Many of the things Johnson does to impact a game -- running the floor, changing shots, disrupting passing lanes -- aren't measured in statistics. "Amir had a flawless game," Billups said. "He was everywhere, making every play. He was on the money." The kids took it from there. Johnson, with help from Afflalo (seven points, two steals and a block), wrecked the Bucks' offensive rhythm with their end-to-end defensive pressure. "It's always great to come in and make a difference when the game is on the line," Afflalo said. "I know I am just a rookie, but I was proud of Amir tonight.

Maxiell for 7 pts (3-7 fg 1-3 ft) 5 rebs in 17 minutes. Max had a couple power dunks, but Amir just outworked him all the way around.

Afflalo with 7 pts (3-5 fg) 2 rebs 2 asts 2 stls 1 blk in 17 minutes. Nice all around game from Arron. His defense was stellar. One bad pass resulted in a turnover, but other than that, he was flawless.

Fabio with 5 pts (2-4 fg 1-1 3pt) 1 reb in 4 minutes. Jarvis only got 2 pts and 2 rebs more in 16 more minutes. And Fabio got Yi to foul him offensively.

Stuckey hasn't been shooting it well since the return from the All-Star break, but he's still running the point well and getting to the line. 6 pts 2 rebs 5 asts and 1 stl for him in 19 minutes. Its amazing, if Stuckey isn't shooting well, he can still be useful on the floor unlike Murray did running the point.

Good all around game. Now they can head out West and really test these youngsters.

After two disappointing losses, the Pistons again looked like the team that won 10 straight before the break. They took a rambunctious effort from two young players -- Amir Johnson and Arron Afflalo -- in the second quarter and turned it into their biggest offensive night in nearly a decade.

The quarter ended on a 29-6 Detroit run, during which the Bucks missed 12 shots. Johnson, who finished with a career-high 13 points as well as six rebounds and two blocks, sparked the quarter with seven points, a block, two steals and two rebounds.Afflalo's stat line doesn't show the impact he made, but he pestered the Bucks on defense and helped hold them to only four baskets.

The 127 points were a season high and the most points the Pistons have scored in regulation since March 8, 2000. The season's previous scoring high was 118, in New Jersey on Dec. 2.
