Larry Brown anybody??

Post#1 » by KB24VC15 » Sat Feb 23, 2008 7:57 am

I hear he is dying to coach again and since the 76ers gave maurice cheeks an extension, i feel if the nets really want to move on, they have to let go of frank, the man love between thorn and frank has to end NOW, the team has gotten worse every year now underhim

ya hes good, but honestly, hes to demanding, not only as a coach but he tries to be the gm as well, and he hates playin young guys, and our team is filled with them....hed prob plau diop over SWIL!!!!!....nad hes a halfcourt offense guy, and its hard to run halfcourt with no low post guy....which we lack....he was successful with the pistons because they was no rookies besides darko...all the pistons complemented eachother so weelll....and they had sheeed....if he came to the nets..he would just demand too much....and seeing we have young guys, they need freeedom to see what role they play...and how they are going to develop....id prefer rick carlisle...he seems like an easy going uy...yet gets the job done...

maybe a demanding guy is what this team needs and not some idiot who claps everytime we screw up on offense or let a team go on a 12-0 run, if this keeps up even with devin in the line up, fire frank and let go of vince in the summer.

I'm not going to seriously think about changes until the off-season. There are so many new player mixes. Wait and see how they will develop.

This will be Frank's first time head coaching without Kidd. First time RJ playing without Kidd. All the old Nets playing without Kidd. All those new guys from Dallas. How does VC handle being team leader and franchise -- especially considering his new contract.

Still, I do like Larry Brown.

I thought Larry Brown was an executive in Philly? What does he even do there if they hired Stefanski and Stefanski gave Cheeks an extension.

LB's has built young teams too. He's most famous for rebuilding projects -- which means young players. Just follow his history. Tayshaun Prince turned out well. What has Darko done in multiple teams his been on since Pistons? LB bombed coaching the Knicks , but so has everyone else. A coach can only do so much with bad mix of players.

LB is drill sergeant, discipline first type of coach. I wonder if VC could accept that sort of coaching. I think everyone else here would welcome more structure and discipline, and the team would be better for it.

Butch Carter and Lenny Wilkens always Challenged Vince, and how did he respond to them?? well thats when his glory days where at an high, when he looked like a player who wanted to win and had hunger, i compare vince now and backthen and everything has changed so much, even the way he shoots has changed if u really look at it, i'm not talking about changes in his ability to dunk or whatever but just the way he looks now, body language and so on, the expressions on his face, more importantly, does VC truly believe hes still the same player with the same attitude 8 yrs ago?? i truly dont think he does, if anything the VC now is an imposter and has the Real VC held hostage in his basement for all we know because the vince now and the vince of 8 yrs ago seem like 2 totally diffrent ppl, vince responds well to tough minded coaching, carter is a nice guy, but when he gets angry or feels like hes has something to prove, hes on another level, and he really has to stop with this team oriented ****, take 40 shots for all i care cuz nets fans wont complain, it just shows ur trying to win games, I know Brown would challenge vince to the point where he lights a fire under him

LB would really help this team on the defensive end but I just don't think he's the type of coach this team needs right now. I like the possibilities of what LB could do to Carter but I honestly don't want him near the Nets' young guys.

If the Nets were competing for a championship right now I'd be all for hiring LB but there are still a few more steps this team needs to take first.

Butch Carter did but Lenny Wilkens absolutely did not.

Even though the Raptors had their most success under Lenny Wilkens he was one of the worse things to happen to Vince Carter. Lenny had a very laid back & casual (lazy if you want to be mean about it) attitude and it permeated the atmosphere in that locker room and VC got into bad habits in practice & on the floor.

I know Nets fans have some bitterness about Larry Brown but I always thought he is the perfect coach for VC. They are both UNC alumni, Larry Brown has spoken highly of VC and brings the credentials and hard nosed attitude that would help this team. The big negative about Brown of course is he never really unpacks his suitcase and is the Jack Kerouac of NBA coaches. All that being said, L. Frank just received a contract extension this past off-season & has the full support of Nets Management so he isn't going anywhere.

No thanks. I want no part of Larry Brown.

I hate Frank... but our next coach should be Rick Carsile, not Larry Brown.
