All-Star Jamal Magloire set free

Post#1 » by cdubbz » Sat Feb 23, 2008 4:56 am

What a potentially big pick up for a title contender. He has size and can be a great backup for a number of teams. He isnt the best center, but can def do some damage and has a presence in the paint. He may be rusty since he hasnt played much the past few seasons, but i would love to see magloire help out the celtics or spurs.

Yeah too bad Kwame Brown is better at catching the ball than him.

Financial considerations of who has what to offer probably means the mavs get him by default plus the minutes are there for him and he gets on a team where he can contend for the ship

yea im guessing he'll be on the mavs.

one has to wonder tho how much damage jammal can still deal if he was unable to crack the nets frontcourt even when they didnt have krstic. watching a few nets games they were reporting that his work ethic is top notch so maybe the nets just wanted to give their young guys a shot.

we do kind of need frontcourt depth, and big cat probably has more left than P.J.

with two roster spots open, we have room for P.J. or Birdman, or someone else

I think he'd be a decent replacement for Diop and I could see the Mavs going there to compete with the size on the other Western teams. There should be a rule forbidding any references to Magloire's all-star status without an asterisk (replacement*).

I believe he's got the highest wingspan-to-height ratio in the entire league--a bit surprising to see him go, hopefully he'll find a niche with some team.

Ummm... really? I'd think e.g. Ty Prince or Brand beat him in this aspect.

lakers can pick him up...since mihm is pretty much done, and drew wont be bak for a while. decent backup, and may fill in kwame brown's void.
