Brent Barry To Houston, Why Not To Atlanta?

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Sat Feb 23, 2008 4:44 am

First and foremost I'm the biggest homer when it comes to Brent Barry. On the other hand we need a shooter and Brent can still light it up. I believe he could offer so much to the Atlanta Hawks, however it would be very difficult to convince him to come here, but on the other hand we should be able to sale him that the playoffs will be part of the package.

I'm reading that Brent could head to Houston, on the other hand, I believe he could still go back to the Spurs. It's another chance for us to acquire a player that can help us towards what we want to achieve.

I'd love to have Barry here, but I assume that at this point he is after a ring... and that's somethign he can't do with the Hawks. Seems like it would be tough for him to get minutes with the Rockets though.

It's not like he doesn't already have a ring. I believe it would depend on many different things, but Atlanta could become a good place for Brent, not the best, but a place for him to receive decent minutes and help a upcoming team. Just depends if he's up for the challenge or not.

He's injured for a few more weeks and then is most likely to go back to San Antonio after 30 days because it would be the lowest impact for his family. He'll listen to other offers, but I really think that is what he does.

Nice thought though.

I would prefer Murray, he is also a shooter and can backup both PG and SG, he would be an excellent signing.

Why would he want to play for a team that could miss the playoffs?

If I were Barry, I would consider the Hawks because we need depth in way that he'd be perfect, and we're in the East. I would think that he might consider the Hawks for 30 games if it meant helping them get to the playoffs (which is much more feasible in our conference).

I believe he goes back to the Spurs. On the other hand Boston is interested and I hope he joins them over Phoenix/Houston/SA.

I think Boston focuses more on signing a PG, but you never know.
