Zach vs. Bosh
Some people are convinced Zach is the better player. Plead your case here.

If this is about the game tonight, Bosh was terrible and still put up better shooting numbers.
This comparison is a joke, and it's not even worth a thread. Zach Randolph isn't in the same hemisphere.
One's an all-star, a franchise leading talent and a great teammate. The other, well the other goes by the nickname Z-Bo.
I call for a lock.

Why should this be locked? It is about the game today, Knick fans think the comparison is a valid one.

The comparison is from Zach to Bosh -- negative numbers on turnovers, blocks and steals means that Bosh was better in those categories.
Zach to Bosh
3 wins 2 Losses
Matchup... Min... Rebs... Assts... TO... Stl... Blk... PF... Pts...
1Win... 13... 9... 3... -2... 0... -1... -3... 6...
2Loss... 9... 10... 2... -2... 3... 0... -1... 29...
3Win... -2... 8... 3... -1... 0... -1... 0... 10...
4Win... 3... -1... 7... 0... 0... 0... 1... 0...
5Loss... 0... -3... 0... -2... -1... -2... -1... -4...
As I was saying in the Game Thread in January, it is really about their surrounding cast and reputations.
Bosh has closed the personal Points & Rebounds & Asssists gap as his team got better.
He always had more Blocks & Steals than Zach.
I just made the thread to discuss the matter.

There is no matter, this comparison isn't one. And anybody with a right mind would know that, it's just going to create troll responses.
Head to head match-ups don't really amount to squat, either.
And it was never about supporting casts, look what Portland has done with that black hole gone. Look how worse the Knicks are this season with him there. Z-Bo created his own reputation.

They're pretty similar, in their game. They both like to face up, but can operate in the post. Both have long range. Both draw fouls well.
The difference is that Bosh is a capable defender; Randolph isn't. Bosh is a willing and fairly talented passer, Randolph isn't. Bosh is a good leader, Randolph isn't. Bosh doesn't need the ball in his hands too often to score his points, Randolph does.
The stats won't tell you that the difference is large. Yet it is.

Yeah, the Blazers get so much better with Z-Bo gone and the Knicks become a lottery team. Randolph is not a winner, or a leader. He's just another Knick who puts up individual stats, but contributes nothing to the team in terms of winning.
Marbury, Z-Bo, Curry; They think they're good, but they're horrible.

they both suck and both put up empty stats. Both cannot pass, both are below average on defense no matter what raptor fans will tell you. The difference is one is a great rebounder, while one is a better shooter. Both are role players and neither should be the #1 option on a team. Bosh is soft, Zach is not. It really is all about preference whether you would want a slightly better shooter or a far better rebounder. But neither should be a #1 option on any team, and Bosh is about 2 years away from being exposed as a Zach Randolph SAR type player. The Raptors are SO lucky they have TJ Ford and Jose Calderon on their team.
You put Bosh on the Knicks, they have the same record, put Randolph on the Raptors, they have the same record. Neither are winners, but Bosh has a far superior supporting cast. Until Bosh is a #2 option, they will be the Dallas Mavericks of the East and never win anything. Bosh is just as soft as Dirk.
oh btw, Bosh was on of my faves at GT and when he came out I kept telling everyone how he was going to be better than Melo, but he has just completely disappointed me this season. I really thought he would take his defense and overall offensive game to the next level, and he just hasn't done it.

[Wrong. Bosh is a below average man defender and a great help defender.]

[Yeah, Zach rules Bosh on the rebound. Wait. Whoops, Zach barely gets one more board per game. Ouch, so much for "superior rebounder". Lets not forget, Bosh was playing with a bum knee and heel for the first half of the season, thus the lower rebounding average. So yes, I will take the better shooter (not to mention, younger, faster, smarter, and much more skilled) player over the (very) slightly better rebounder (which is the only thing he has on Bosh)]

[If Bosh is a softie and Zach is as tough as nails (which is apparently the most important trait of all), I wonder why the Blazers are doing much better without Zach, and the Knicks have not improved one bit with him? Take your time. The Raptors would be a lottery team without Bosh, but the Blazers were a lottery team with Zach and without him they are a .500 team. The Knicks, well, are always a lottery team, with no picks. If the Raps are the Mavs with Bosh, then any team with Zach must be the Timberwolves of the east.]

[Again, his offensive game is one of the best for a big man in this league. Playing any offense for half the season on a bum knee and heel is a pretty big accomplishment mind you. Look at his stats from the new year (when he started getting healthy), I'm sure he's putting up 25 ppg or something like that. His offensive game is at a high level, so I have no idea what you are talking about. Face up, mid range, turn arounds, and all that jazz. I mean, its an impressive array of weapons. His man defense is bad. We know that. But he brings great help D. Yes, his defense is lacking, but his offense is just fine.]
Red is such a nice colour.

i love when people point to a TEAM's record and blame it on one player or credit one player for it. I'm sure the Blazer's better record has NOTHING to do with Roy, Webster, and Outlaw all taking their game to the next level. But I guess Toronto's record is all because of Bosh and has nothing to do with him playing next to a top 7 PGin the league and the best backup PG in the league. And then Randolph gets blamed even though the only 2 players on his team that deserve to be starters in the league are him and Lee and they play the same position. The Knicks have no PG and Crawful takes the majority of shots.
But sure, compare their teams to show that one is better. I'd rather watch them play and notice they are both selfish players who are only pure offensive threats. Bosh is soft, and is not the great help defender you think he is, but i wouldn't expect a homer to understand that. I hate Bosh and Randolph equally, they both ahve all the talent in the world and do not use it correctly to make their teammates better. They are both equals, and this argument is sounding like more Raptor homerism, and in 2 years you will agree with me when Bosh has yet to lead you past the first round and one of TJ or Jose are gone so they cannot carry your team and install automatic chemistry.
