We played three tought teams in four days on the road, right after the all star break, where four of our best players were pre-occupied with the events during the break, and after four players coming back. All things considered, the first two were close and the third was still winnable, even with two of our best three shooting cold. It's a small skid and nothing more. The Celtics, like the Lakers, Hornets, Spurs, Pistons, Suns, and so on are just really contenders. We'll find out who's championship calibur after the season is done, but someone does have to win it and it very well still could be us.
As for the playoffs, yes, the team could use a PG or C and it's been indicated that Danny's looking for one. We'll be a complete team by the time the playoffs come around and let's be serious: That's all that matters. A little three game skid in the season with all things considered is not a lot to worry about. If it happens in the playoffs, then let the floodgates open, otherwise, big deal, I'm not worried.

You guys will be just fine.
It's not one loss. It has been that kind of play since the beginning of January. Either our offense stinks, or our defense. Rarely we played without problems on both ends.

I think that if we don't sign another veteran C or PG, it's really over.
I agree we need another point guard. But don't we still technically have the best record in the league and the best record in our conference? So isn't weird that were sitting here saying we suck and its all over? To me thats strange...How many teams with the best record in both the league and conference/best defense technically in basketball...have fans that say its all over?
Ray still got game.

Hello, my name is Lawrence Frank, and it is widely known that I misuse players.
Magloire is debatably a decent addition, but you can't seriously believe he's the make or break guy that takes a "non-championship team" and suddenly makes them championship contenders.

I think some people are being incredibly hard on P2.
I for one agree with him that this team as currently constituted will not win a championship this year.
Here are my reasons:
We need to establish whom the offense would run through.
Will it be KG, PP, or Ray Allen. If the offense runs through one of these guys Rondo is effectively limited in how he plays and is better suited to the bench for a sot up shooter, i.e. Ed House. PP and Ray both need the ball to create of the dribble or one of the m becomes a spot up shooter which plays away from their strengths.
We lack big man depth. We need a tall athletic big defender and someone whom can spot up and hit the occasional 15 footer. (this excludes Big Baby and Powe).
We also need an experienced point guard. In essence if we are able to get Bones he would render house useless. Bones Barry gives us everything house would but with height and he is a much better back up point guard.
In a perfect world I would also like to see a vet scorer come off the bench for instant offense .
The C's lack the ability to play different styles of basketball. The Spurs are the best at this. They can run and gun with any team or they can grind it out as a defensive team.
We are still a work in progress and it has only been one year removed from the lottery. SO all and all we are doing well but the championship talk needs to calm down. We are in the mix but at the bottom of the mix.
The C's as currently constituted are a Eastern finals team. If everything breaks in there favour they may make the finals

This team can absolutely win a championship. It's not sure thing catergory but they have the pieces to do it now. You can't abandon ship when the going gets a little tough - come on man.
The C's need to step it up and play more cohesively. Since Garnett's return the entire team has been out of sorts..and don't have a flow going yet.
These posts as usual are reactionary. I do advocate us picking up sam cassell if available as that would boost our chances. I think Rondo while very good sometimes lacks the presence to step up against the leagues best. Sam Cassell has no such issue.

Certainly not, but he can make a "championship contender" (which we supposedly are) a "dangerous championship contender". As of right now, we are not dangerous, but adding Cassell and possibly Magloire would really make us dangerous.

In fact, i'm a Raps fan, so i technically be trolling this thread, but i'll be one of the first to say that this team will be able to bring it in the playoffs and that it is, in all likelihood, a championship level team. The C's have pretty much demolished the East, and once the playoffs come around and they play those teams again, they should have relative success. Of course, they aren't a guarantee to win the championship this year, but i'm laying my cards down with the C's to win at least one championship in the next 4 years.
My vote for Troll of the Year!!!!
