Artest on almost being traded to the Suns...

Post#1 » by JJ13 » Sat Feb 23, 2008 8:43 pm

ESPN: We heard some reports close to the deadline that Phoenix also might have been interested in you, too. Did you hear anything like that?

Artest: That would have been sick.

...Yes Ron, it would have been sick.

Can you imagine this sick line up of:

PG: Steve Nash
SG: Raja Bell
SF: Ron Artes
PF: Amare Stoudimare
C: Shaquile Oneal
2 defensive stoppers who can shoot the 3 pointers!! SICK!! Then the bench:
Bench:
Leandro Barbosa
Grant Hill
Boris Diaw

WHAT STOP IT!?!?

I think all we had was the ATL pick and a TPE, but I read on the SAC board that PHX was trying to get SAC to take Diaw, which would obviously be a no go from SAC's side.

That makes sense, since adding Artest would've put them over the luxury cap.

Interesting, Coro wrote that the SUNS never had an interest in Artest. Now that is indeed sick.

With a starting lineup of

Nash
Bell
Artest
Stoudamire
Shaq

I concede that the Suns would have went undefeated the rest of the season....
