That and the Olympic team this summer for that matter. I love Deron's game.

kinda ironic that kobe would say that. he coulda enjoyed the same festivities and had just as much fun on the bench in a suit than in a jersey. he only played the first 3 minutes!

for kobe to say that just shows (once again) how he's putting the blame on someone else for the "stupid rule." had he officially sat out, than deron actually could have played in his spot.

I've was never a fan of Kobe until the last 2-3 years. Dudes got game for days, now he's becoming a great team player. I'm glad Kobe came out and said what everyone else was thinking. Deron deserves it! Kobe didn't want to play, why not put someone in there who is going to come out and play.

... but since the AS break, Deron has been unstoppable..!

We may not have what it takes this season to win it all. But our nucleous is strong and our bench is legit.... future is bright in Utah.
Bye Bye Sloan, Good Riddance Deron. Hello new Era in Jazz Basketball.

I don't see how he's putting the blame on anyone else
Your hate for Kobe I'm guessing is making you ignorant of the situation. Kobe did want to sit out but due to "The Rules" he was incapable of doing so, so that is why he is "BLAMING" the stupid rules for Deron unable to play in the All-Star game. Kobe had no choice but to suit up. Hence "the stupid rule". Kobe was able to play the last regular season game prior to All-Star then he HAS TO PLAY in the All-Star game, if not he will be suspended for the next game. :noway: :noway: :noway:

This post is the very definition of ignorance.

"All the media hype, obviously, it's easy to overlook a team like Utah because they're in Utah,'' Bryant said.

No mention of this in the thread?

call me ignorant if you want. the "rule" i was under the impression he was calling "stupid" was the position limit on the team. (only so many guards can play etc.) if there is another rule he was referring to, please enlighten me. i do not wish to remain ignorant.

however, he has put the blame on somebody else so often in the past,(buss, jackson, shaq etc...) that it was very easy to jump to that conclusion for me. i simply added "the rules" to that list of blame-ee's. other players sat out the all-star game this year due to injury. why not he?

kobe lovers (as opposed to me, a "kobe-hater"), all-knowing anti-ignorant peoples, i ask you, what rule was he actually referring to? and why was he not selfish in taking up a roster spot to play 3 minutes?

p.s. not that i don't appreciate his "love-words" for deron. i do. however, i just think he coulda backed it up with actions as opposed to words.

Actually, the "rule" here is the one saying Kobe must play in the ASG by virtue of the fact that he played in the last season game before the break. Kobe was not willing to miss season games to rest his injury, but he was willing to give his spot on the AS team to DWill, but Stern waived the big "no no" finger....

It is a pretty dumbass rule. If a player has a legit injury (minor, whatever), then he should be able to elect to rest during the break regardless of when the last time he played was. Its not like there is any shortage of deserving All-Star talent like DWill in this league...
