Whose mock ever is close?
I saw today that he moved Thabeet up to around 22, but I still think the lottery is a stretch for him. I dont necessarily agree with Chad Ford, but he gets the bulk of his information from scouts and NBA execs, which to me is more reputable than some random persons opinion.

I think you are underselling Bayless. Taking Bayless proves Isiah realized the PG's he has now stink. Bayless is more than just a chucker, he is a good fit in NY IMO.
So he goes and drafts a(nother) short SG to teach them a lesson?

If we don't move him, we'll most likely try to build around him...
We don't desperately need a true PG, we need a PG who can hit the 3, score at a good clip, play solid defense and run a offense decently... We don't need a true PG...
I'm not much of a fan of Collison or his fit with the Cavs... He's too small for our lineup...

But having Jefferson and Daniels with Stuckey/Amir/Maxiell/Afflalo is a damn nice future if you ask me.
C. Billups/R. Stuckey
R. Hamilton/A. Afflalo
T. Prince/W. Herrmann/D. Jefferson
A. McDyess/J. Maxiell/A. Johnson
R. Wallace/C. Daniels/C. Samb
I think this would be a terrible draft for Detroit. At this point I dont view Davon Jefferson as a first rounder, he is way way too raw to even think about declaring for the draft. And if Detroit is going to go for a raw player Id rather they choose a raw bigman to develop over a swing. And I wouldnt call Chris Daniles a viable NBA C prospect or anyone else Detroit picks up that late in teh 2nd round.
This is my draftboard as a Detroit fan:
DeVon Hardin
Jason Thompson
Trent Plaisted-why isnt he on anyones mock, this is a kid who plays in the low black, is athletic, quick and can run the court and who is a good passer. In my eyes he is a definate first rounder if he declares
Serge Ibaka
Javele McGee
The only time I would advocate Detroit taking a swing at 29 would be if 1) those players are off the board or 2) Chris Douglass Roberts falls, maybe even Tyler Smith

Seriously, Have you seen the Cavaliers shoot the ball? The team needs more reliable shooting before a PG. And, they arent going to take the ball out of James' hands just to put it in Collison's.
Even before the trade today the Cavaliers would have had a 33 year old Z along with Gooden, Varejao and Marshall entering their last contract years.
Now with Wallace and Joe Smith the Cavaliers have 3 big men 32 and over going into this summer with Varejao entering the year before he undoubtedly opts out.
The Cavaliers need a young athletic big man with preferably some offensive skill.
The Cavaliers will still have enough ending contracts to go get an even better upgrade at guard. No one in the NBA is trading good young big men.

he plays inside based on need at USC, they're not exactly the biggest or deepest team. i think he'll be able to make the transition to the 3, but should definitely stay another year in college.

I think neither are locks for the first round and both can be lottery picks if they return for their senior years. Lawson is more likely to come out than CDR is, but both would be smart to stay another year. Plenty of places have them in their 09 mocks.

Where's Lawson? Are you saying he'll stay or did I just miss him? I'd think the Kings would take him over Gallinari at 12th... we need a PG more than a SF.
edit: Nevermind. I just saw above you don't have him in your draft. That sucks because I really don't want Gallinari at all, no need for a SF and we really need a PG.

Warriors would gladly take Dan-O off your hands, we have the #20 pick though so it's a long drop.

Explain this regarding Ty Lawson. To me, he's a top-20 pick without a question.
