Mike Bibby Watch

Post#1 » by Cruel_Ruin » Sat Feb 23, 2008 9:31 pm

I want to track how Bibby does with the Hawks.

Last night: 17 points, 7 assists 5/9 shooting in 25 minutes while sticking it to the Warriors. Go Mike go!

I hope he can take the Hawks to the POs. I was surprised they beat the Warriors, I thought they'd need a little more time to jell. But they have the talent. Hopefully the Hawks can get to .500.

He led a Hawks comeback, but everytime he went out (resting and then foul trouble in the third) the Jazz went on another run.

He made 3 of his 4 three pointers in a span of 51 seconds to get his team back within 7 at halftime after being down by 19 with 2.47 left in the 2nd.

Mike got denied incredibly by Kurt Thomas in that game... tried to go in for a lay-up, and Kurt rotated over and just stopped him completely.

I'd say the win against Phoenix at Arco on ABC last year was better or right with that game (vs. Kings in Atlanta).

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270325023

That was vintage Mike Bibby and more.

Mike was also able to get 12 assists, and has been getting more assists with the Hawks, than with us because of all the Hawks athletes, finishers, and shooters. Also is playing more minutes than with us.

Joe Johnson, Horford, J-Smith (not so much shooting), Marvin Williams, Childress, Pachulia, West. While he hasn't played much, you have Solomon Jones also to relate to that, as a finishing athlete.

Still that's a really nice game. 14 assists is Nash-esque dude. Mike might not be here but I don't see why we shouldn't like him. I actually hope the Hawks do well and make the POs. Just because he was traded doesn't mean that should erase the 7 or so years he gave to this team playing 100% and try to discount everything he does.

I am not sure if you all care or not. Bibby re-injured his thumb last night. It was a freak play. It look like he will alright.

Mike has played well for the Hawks. His biggest impact no doubt has been on Joe Johnson. He has turn JJ back into the player he was last year. A bit surprising for me anyways. JJ asts numbers has went up since Bibby has arrived.

Ummm, i didnt say "OMG i hate him and i hope he rots in hell". Im just saying 14 assists isnt that impressive when you do it against one of the worst teams ever essembled.

Bibby goes off with perhaps his best game as Hawk. Good thing he had it going. JJ was off all night.

Bibby with 26 points, 12 assists, 6 boards and 3 steals in Hawks OT win over Toronto. He also hit the game tying 3 that sent it to OT.
