I love their management and the defensive play all of their players try to play.
They seem to only turn it up in the second half of the season though,
My favorite thing about the Spurs is that they are always poised even when facing a deficit; it makes me feel they will make a comeback by how calm they are.

In general, the only other team I wouldn't mind myself rooting for (Pistons fan). The only bad thing I can say about them is: "Bruce Lee ******* Bowen you dirty *** ************ you abomination of a basketball player. Go back in time and give your mother an abortion." Too harsh? This was hilarious though:

I used to hate them a few years ago but like 4 years ago my hate changed into admiration and now I kinda like them. Manu and Timmy are among my favorite players.
as RC pointed it out, even if they face a deficit they always stay calm and find a way to break your neck. oh and I love watching Defense and execution of plays and all those intangibles.
if Detroit and San Antonio would meet in the finals a dream came true...

I don't like the Spurs, largely because I live in San Antonio and I get exposed to not only the team but the city's extreme dislike for the Lakers. Frankly, I root against them virtually every time they step out on the court.
That said, there's no team that I respect more. Simply put, they show up on a nightly basis and force you to beat them. They win championships, and they do it by playing the game the right way.
I think it says a lot about the average NBA fan that the Spurs get so little credit/attention despite dominating like they have. A lot of that has to do with the small market they play in. But I also don't think the average NBA fan truly grasps how special this team is.
Indeed, just from reading these boards you'd think they were on their last legs, and here they are a 1/2 game out of first place in the West -- all without their NBA Finals MVP point guard.
It's like I try to point out to every Lakers fan that starts crowing about how we're the team to beat, until you beat them four times in a playoff series you can never write off the San Antonio Spurs.
(Just to make sure I'm not kissing their ass too much, allow me to point out that the Lakers are 3-1 in the postseason against the Spurs during the Jackson era.)

They tanked their season to get Duncan, they have a no talent hack named Bruce Bowen, and their style of play helps me sleep at night.
And, they have the biggest flopper sice Divac retired, named Manu.
Their team is getting old and when Duncan retires, they won't be anything but a 500 team.
Then you'll see if Popazit is really a coach. But my guess is that he will retire along with Duncan.

At first I hated them because everyone hates the best team when its not their own team. However Its hard to hate against TD. I think the Spurs are the ideal team in the NBA. They are a model for how a team and organization should be run.
My Starting 5:
PG: Allen Iverson
SG: Paul Pierce
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Kevin Garnett
C: Patrick Ewing

Except Duncan should be the player-GM. Then they'd have Josh Howard and would be a true back-to-back-to-back-to-back dynasty.
They are in my top 3. If they can get healthy. Lakers, Spurs, Suns. In that order. Assuming Parker and Bynum get back. And I know Barry's going back to SA as well.

Well put Point Forward .. i agree but only things that annoy me about them is of course one of the top 3 floppers of all time Manu and their fans ...
They have a right to be cocky due to their teams success the past couple of seasons but the ridiculous stuff they say about Kobe and The Lakers makes a part of me never have respect for them ...
But the team of course i respect them ... got one of my fave all time players Horry and Duncan is a cool cat .. Bowen gets away with some things but im cool with that hes a tough nosed defensive player
