Exactly. Don't get me wrong; I absolutely love this squad. Not only do they win, they play an entertaining brand of ball. It's going to be so fun watching them develop in the coming years.

But come on -- anybody who saw Showtime in action (and I only came in on the back end) wouldn't even dream of making the comparison. But I guess that's what star does. Dude just doesn't know any better. (See below)

I don't remember having guys like Deron Williams and players like that left off the allstar team in the 80's and 90's. I don't remember players that can fly back then like DHoward who also have shoulders the size of my head.

first off, the prime in the nba was the 80's. maybe the marketing of jordan took it to a different kind of level in the 90s but the lakers/celtics of the 80s would handed the 90s bulls and pretty much every team now their asses in a 7 game series. so there is no way in hell this current team could hang with the 80s lakers and i doubt they could with the shaq lakers. maybe in another year with continued growth the current team would be able to hang.

remember, the teams in the 80s were stacked. it was before the dilution of the talent pool that occured in the late 80s and early 90s when the nba added 6 teams in expansion over a 6 or 7 year period.

I'd have to disagree, there were fewer teams before the expansions, the league got diluted. The only other reason is that teams went international looking for talent. Also players went straight to the league from H.S. not evryone is a Kobe or Garnett who can contribute. alot of em needed college.

The jury's still out have to see how well this squad plays when they get Bynum back. we all think it's going to work well on paper. What I will give this squad is they are running the triangle even better than any bulls or lakers squad. their efficiency and shooting 50+%, that's crazy....

well this says one thing. the fans expectations are very very high.

this team is an oustanding team. but i agree with most, they dont stack up with the dynasty we just completed.

UNLESS OF COURSE . . . these guys reel off a few of their own.

but until then, no.

if this team can match the expectations of the fans, or come close they have to be considered up there with the great laker teams
because the expectations are so high, but until we can't compare them
