Who are you rooting for now?

Post#1 » by netsforever » Sun Feb 24, 2008 10:16 pm

Since we're clearly not gunning for a title this time around, who will we all be pulling for in the playoffs?

Favorite team outside of NJ in the East right now is probably Boston... KG and Ray Allen have always been two guys I wanted on the Nets, very classy players who deserve their shot at a ring.

Plus, Boston has Brian Scalabrine.

In the West, I'm liking the Lakers and the Hornets.

Cleveland - Lebron is just amazing. I love the fact that he plays with more **** then anyone and he does 1/3 of the bitching that other guys do. He also seems like a guy his teammates genuinely like. I have hated the Pistons for 5 years so I can't root for them now and the upstart Celtic fans and the "big 3 perimeter players", who have never won anything, make me want to vomit.

Utah - Love Williams and Boozer. Tough gamers, fit Sloan perfectly. Love how underrated and under-appreciated they are by the 'espn' types.

Dallas - Would love to see Kidd outplay mr. 2 MVPs and carry a team through the west. He put us on the map and got us a great value at 35 years old so I don't hold any grudge.

In the East i'd say Pistons , they're the best team and i always liked team basketball .

In the West hmm I'l go with Mavs or Spurs .

I like Dirk and Kidd but if they can't win it i don't mind the Spurs again .

I'd hate to see the Lakers win it after the Gasol trade .

Teams I want to lose embarrassingly

Lakers - Gasol was a gift they didn't deserve. Kobe is amazing but I don't like him.

Celtics - Can't wait until everyone realizes how old they are really are and that this run is going to be 2 or 3 years max.

don't want to win out of spite - Pistons, Raptors

indifferent towards - Suns, Magic, SA,

Cleveland Vs. LA. Kobe vs. LeBron. The return for both in the finals to take back what's "rightfully theirs".

or

Boston Vs. LA. Classic Match-up reborn. A new era of dominance between old rivals.

or (you guys will laugh at this one)

NJ vs. Dallas. The Kidd faces his old team. The trade that brought the most un-expected match-up in finals history. Will the third time be the charm for the Nets or Kidd?

I haven't given up on the Nets. We should shoot for the moon, try and finish .500, and take 6th seed -- and fight a good series against 3rd seed in Magic or Cleveland.

Teams I'm rooting for:

Nuggets - I like AI, I like KMart, I like Camby, I like Naraja
Mavs

East teams... Probably Detroit .. but I just can't. Too many bad memories involve Detroit: RJ's wrist injury and Kidd blowing out his knees.

So, Go Cleveland!!!

I agree with Netaman -- I'm rooting against Lakers and Celtics. They haven't paid their dues.

I'd Like to see whoever wins the east win it all. I'd like to see the Hornets win the west. I can't root for Kidd after going public and then having his agent threaten us. I am rooting for the Mavs to be in the lottery the next three years....:)

It is protected 1 to 14 (lottery). If that happens we get there pick in 2009 and its unprotected. Thats why I wrote I'm rooting for them to be in the lottery for the next three years....:).....2010 is unprotected.

Well if they miss the playoffs this year the 2010 pick will become the 2011 pick for us .

You can't trade 2 consecutive picks .

Well as long as Josh Howard stays a offensive blackhole and just chucks jumpers it's possible that Dallas misses the playoffs .
