next year

15/12/2.7 blocks/1.5 steals

prime [in the case that he puts absolutely all of his talent to the challenge and learns from the best]

24/15/3.5 blocks/2 steals

i would definitely compare his statline to a dwight howard with less alleyhoops/more shots coming off hooks

Stats next season will depend on his
fouling, hopefuly he wont be foul prone.

Next season: 11.4ppg 1.7apg 8.9rpg 1.6bpg 46.7%fg 69.4%ft

Prime: 17.4ppg 3.1apg 12.3rpg 2.6bpg 48.9%fg 72.8%ft

Surge is smokin the sticky green.

Next season: 12-14 PPG 9 RPG 2 APG 1.8 BPG 52% FG 65% FT 1.2 SPG

Prime: 18-22 PPG 12-13 RPG 3.1 APG 3.0 BPG 55% FG 70% FT 1.7 SPG 5 CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!

I'd take him mid to late second round next season. He's not as valuable on fantasy as Some of the fantasy stars but as a rookie, He'll make a nice impact at the center position.

12pts 12rebs and 3 blocks next year.
26 to 32pts, 11 to 16 rebs, 2.5 to 4 blks through prime.
I think some years he'll score better, and some he'll rebound better but I expect most years his numbers will be some where in that range.

I think he'll be better than Al Horford was this year....getting constant double doubles or near double doubles.

His prime....well everyone knows....

If there is absolutely anyone with a Greg Oden prediction based on something other than their range of hysteria for his insane athleticism for a big man, then you can criticize me. Otherwise, all of our predictions are held to equal terms.

Thanks for predicting he'd shoot 46.7% from twos next year. That got a good chuckle out of me.

Seriously. If he shoots less than 55%, Nate should be fired for not coaching him to get his points from three feet in.

And Odd--I never pegged you for such a pessimist.

How about basing it on his insane athleticism, his ability to make shots with both hands, his excellent footwork compared to virtually every NBA big man, and the insane court vision he showed in the few summer league games he played before the surgery? That's what mine is based on, and I think we're looking at a player that can easily average what he did in his freshman year at OSU in the NBA, and I would actually be disappointed if he didn't get more rebounds than that.

Either that, or blame Jarrett Jack. :)

I'd be incredibly shocked if Oden shoots below 50%

Even if Oden plays only 35 mpg because of foul problems, he will score a minimum of 18 ppg. He'll get at least 12.5 rebounds and 3 blocks. His FG% will be well over 50% but his FT% won't be so good, maybe around 65%. I expect these numbers will be the absolute minimum.

I was thinking maybe 16.5ppg, but other than that I'm pretty much in line with your estimates. I think he may be a better FT% shooter than you suspect, though, as I believe he was over 63% shooting with his off hand in college last year.

Take it for what it's worth, but I asked Barrett on his blog back in Mid-August if he knew if the coaching staff had any plans for his free throw shooting. Aside from being chastised for daring to question a skill in Oden's repetrois I was told that he actually had pretty good form and that the coaching staff thought he could become a pretty good free throw shooter.

Again, take that for what it's worth.

I completely forgot Oden was shooting his FT's left handed. I have no clue what his FT% will be. I honestly believe my numbers above are low. Oden is going to be a monster and Roy will be good for his numbers.
