He is actually 6'10.5 w/o shoes and 7'0.75 with shoes...So, basically he is a "7 footer" on court... :)

Taller than Dwight Howard. 0.5 of an inch shorter than Oden.

As for the game, I can't really blame Brad for getting pounded by Dwight. Theus should have had someone else gaurd him because Brad was clearly trying not to pick up any fouls because without him out there our offense turns to crap!

Theus should have went to "hack a Howard". Put Mikki on him just so Mikki can use his 6 fouls. Shelden certainly should have gotten time. Could have been a great learning experience for him. Oh well.

BTW Hawes might just have a future in the league...i kind of doubted the pick, especially at 10, but...hopefully he works out...btw i doubt the fact that he's 7'...
It could happen (AJ and/or Wright being waived), but I just don't think there's a lot of urgency to do it. Petrie made a comment after the trade that he really is not just looking at Johnson, Lue and Wright as "expiring" deals...he is willing to give them an honest look for the potential to help the team in the future. Realistically, they are probably not going to be part of the team's future. But Petrie is not just going to toss them aside without giving them a chance to earn a role. My guess is that they are going to remain on the roster until the road trip is over and they have had time to get some quality practice time in.

Also, since the roster is currently at 15, I think the potential would be for only 1 guy to get cut so we don't fall under the CBA mandated 14 (we've gotten in trouble for having too few players before).
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

I think the fairest thing to do for them would be to waive every single one of them. Don't forget they are all in a contract year and may have aspirations of playing again next year. If they wait to long the teams that can use them now will move on to other players.

So, I say waive them all, and bring back Jones and maybe look at a couple of other young players from the D-league.

Hawes plays smaller than his size, Dwight plays bigger than his. I like Hawes a lot though and loved the pick last draft. He just needs to settle in.

I remember him being hardcore knocked for his rebounding/shotblocking, but I have to say so far I have been impressed with both of these just about every game so far.

His rebounding and shotblocking has been pretty good thus far, its his post defense and gaining position that is terrible. Also doesn't have lateral quickness or a high IQ on the defensive side.

Yea Im pretty surprised with his shotblocking. His rebounding isnt too bad either. As far as gaining position and post defense, he must bulk if he doesnt want to be push around. But remember that he's only a 19yrs old rookie, give him time. Im sure the number one priority this offseason for him and the coaching staff is for him to gain some muscle.
