Kobe: I Didn't Want To Leave (Wiretap)

After the game, RealGM's Graham Flashner asked Bryant if he could have ever envisioned the Lakers being where they were at this point in time, and he shook his head.

i think he's said before he didn't want to leave, but he felt he had to because the organization wasn't moving in a direction he liked
glad he decided to stick it out worked out well for him

Can someone please edit the grammar at the top of this thread? I'm sorry normally I don't care but this is just flat out horrible. :nonono:

Nice to see Kobe talking about leaving in the past tense.

Glad we can put that whole Kobe diva drama behind us. He nearly gave Laker Nation a heart attack.

he shouldve never pondered the thought. period. asked if he was a kobeman or a shaqman, jack nicholson said, Im a LAKER man. or something to that effect.

in other words, going to the clipper or bull organization is one thing. but theres a reason why our history goes back several decades. this is the organization that will build it around you. will it take time? sure. but we will consistently be at or near the top. always competing. for him to even think of that possibility was a mistake.

im in too with jack, i am a LAKER man(fan), magic, kareem, shaq, kobe etc. and other players come and go. but this is the enduring quality of this franchise. the ability to be in the mix year in year out.

That's not good enough, I think some fans would only accept a hand-written apology and for Kobe to say the exact words: "I swear on the lives of my children that I will never leave this basketball club."

Let's be serious, this is not news. Everybody knew Kobe wasn't leaving the moment Andrew Bynum appeared from under his rock, ripped and ready to go.

Glad that he sees and recognizes the development in the organization. Good time to push the egos aside and give props to the people that deserve it.
