Evans and Cook

Post#1 » by magickingdom » Mon Feb 25, 2008 7:32 pm

Have you guys followed how well they are doing in Orlando.
Do you think it has to do with systems? I mean how come someone does not so well for one team and them plays great for another? Their skills are still the same. Does a system or style a team plays really effect a players play that much?
In any case they are doing well for us. Scored 28 points last night.

Evans really didn't get enough playing time since he had to play behind kobe and Cook i dont know about him i just think he sucks. He can shoot but his defense is terrible.

And yes playing in a different system really does matter. Do you think Yao would be able to average 22ppg 12rebs in PHX?

I believe in the system change theory. Just look at Gasol. I believe Diaw wasn't playing this well when he was in Atlanta either (i think).

I don't care what these guys say, I would have rather sent Mihm and Walton, and kept those 2.

Playing with Kobe makes players look better than they seem. Cook is soft and I think you guys got decent return from Evans. I just dont understand why your GM would ever let Ariza go, he is a horse.

Getting rid of cook was addition by subtraction. Evans was thrown in there so they would actually get a decent player. Overall we're better. We freed up time for Vlad rad, and Sasha.

Sorry, I would rather have Cook and Evans over Walton, Mihm, Karl, Mbenga. Cook and Evans are averaging a combined 14pts 5 rebs. Evans is shooting a higher % than Walton. Atleast Cook spaced the floor, as soft as he was he could have gotten Mbengas minutes. I love that we got Ariza, and hopefully we get rid of these other scrub guys by next year. These guys are accounting for about $8 mil, I would rather spend the minimum on 4 D-league guys.

Cook is hilarious. If he makes one shot, he'll make his next 3, no matter how awful the shot is.

just going off of stats, would you rather have a big that does nothing or a big that spaces the floor and hits 3's. I have never liked Walton and have been ripped before, but the guy is finally showing what he's made of. Unless he works his @$$ off in the offseason, he sucks during the season. C'mon the guy was missing shots inside the key against Seattle. Evans is a better athlete, and yeah he lost minutes cuz of the machine, but he could have gotten minutes at SF, Waltons minutes.

All I'm saying is that I would rather have Cook, even if him and Vlad do the same thing, over Mihm, who isn't even playing, and Mbenga, who just sucks, we could have given those minutes at C to Turiaf, and Turiafs minutes to Cook. I'd rather have someone who contributes something to the team, then justa warm body out on the court.

Cook cant be considered as a true big, maybe just an oversized SG with no handling skills.
I still have faith in Luke, and although his shots arent falling, his court vision and passing ability are invaluable.
We dont need another scorer or potential scorer. We need a guy who can make an extra pass, and I feel we have him in Luke.
