Our 6'0" backcourt with AI at shooting guard, like all y'all want (because in Philly bla bla bla... that was long time ago, and now the fact is that when he dishes the ball, we win) need more than just effort. Maybe we didn't need Artest (maybe I'm overrating him, but you are way underating him AS a player) but we need improvement down there, and until Diawara learns how to play offense, or JR Smith leaves the doghouse and learn how to play defense, we don't have the pieces.

We are stocked on talent, and we can blame it on the boogie, but there's a hole to fill.

Where have I ever stated that I want AC and AI starting together, find one post.

As for Artest the player, if the guy causes fallout in the lockerroom talent means absolutely nothing, if he decides he would rather promote his next rap album then play next week then what? What happens when he poiunds the ball the other posessions when Melo and AI are not pounding the ball. Being a great team is more then just having the most talent, in fact if you look at the history of the league or just look at sports in general, it is often the team with slightly less talent and more chemistry/teamwork that wins in the end. Making a panic move for a guy who does not fit with exactly what we need is not going to help that process along, and you can try to claim that defense is a need, and I admit it is, but the biggest need this team has is a guy who can hit outside shots, willingly passes the ball, will move without the ball, and that the **** coach will play. If Artest fit that then you would have one hell of an argument, but he is not a great outside shooter, he is a ball stopper, and he really does not move without the ball on offense. The only thing he does do is play defense, and on offense he is basically a poor mans melo which is not going to help this team.

I didn't say that you want to see AC and AI together, but a lot of you think that AI should be at SG, and I believe that he will be more productive for THIS team at PG, because when he pass, we win and we would have a 6'0" backcourt if he plays 2. I didn't talk about AC, Lowry, Cassell or Coby Karl.

The rest of the post, I see your point and I understand you. I woulda like to gamble for Artest, because the price was fair. Double or quits. But that's just me.

I can see why you don't want him on the team, what I was trying to say is that even though we played good defense before, and the ones in the forum that know a thing or two about basketball (you know who you are, and I'm including you of course, Rebel) sometimes say that we don't have a problem on defense, that we will step up in playoffs, IMO there's still a hole to fill on the backcourt. As there is a problem with the offense. And what upset me is that we have 90~100% of the pieces/talent to make it work, but we're still far away.

You guys are whiny. Look what Denver management has done the past few years. Drafted well with Anthony, Brought in Martin (if it were not for injuries he would of been great) Camby, A-frikkin-I, With a geat bench Najera, one of the most underrated players in my opionion and the klinneas guy. Yea I dont know how to spell his name. AND Denver has spent more than the majority of teams out there doing so. Then Denver brought in a new gm with a big name coach. Sure no big trade was completed this year, but to bag on your VERY proactive GM. It is obvious that your Owner wants to win due the the huge tax he is going to pay. As for Artest, how likely was the deal really going to be? Most teams dont like to send their talent to a competitor in the conference. Denver management has been very PROACTIVE, mabey the players havent lived up to their expectations, or mabey the management got the wrong players. BUT give me a break about bashing the management of the Nuggs.

We all bash management on here for different reasons. But me personally, I bash management for not bringing in a player that can actually spread the floor. Year after year we have needed a player to spread the floor, and what do we do? We hope JR will improve, we hope Kleiza will improve, or we sign Chucky Atkins. These are not realistically going to help us spread the floor, which has been our problem in the playoffs.

Without bringing in legit options to hit perimeter shots consistently, all teams in the playoffs have to do (and have been doing), is play some zone, pack the lane, and make sure Melo and AI have a hard time slashing to the basket. And until we bring in a perimeter shooter, history is doomed to repeat itself.
