Whoever said Kareem must surely be joking. Kareem is one of the biggest A-holes in the history of athletes. He would swear at reporters and tell them to leave him the hell alone. He would get angry at fans who wanted autographs, asking them to respect his privacy. He alienated himself from fans, coaches, and teammates alike. And now, he is broke, friendless, and cant get anything more than a "charity" job on PhilJax's staff.

That being said....he is one of the truly great players of all-time :)

or if meant now, probably Wade.

   @ Wade

Given some of the names listed, it seems that many people in this thread have not been around many NBA players in a social setting.

I play basketball daily and there's an extremely high correlation for people that whine on the court and being a-holes in real life. Duncan seems like a nice dude and all, but how would you ever really know? Guy's never committed a foul in his life. He very well might be an a-hole.

I know for a fact Hakeem Olajuwon was, one of my teachers used to be good friends with him. Wade comes to mind, Peja.....it's really hard to tell, who knows.

Now he is. He was a jerk back in the day. He's even admitted it's his past that's kept him from getting jobs in the NBA.

wtf :dontknow: You must be thinking of that Dolphins running back who changed his name to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and was sued by the original Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Kareem was a real ass to people....and only now that its too late does he realize it and feel regret.....

Kareem was a jackass in his player career, book it. In Magic's bio "My Life", you can read that KAJ was extremely condescending to ballboys, team mates, journalists, most white people, and people whom he did not like (i.e. 99% of the whole world). But at least he regrets it today and has changed for the better.
