Getting rid of Cook was as important to this team as getting rid of Smush Parker. (Yeah I said it)

Cook can't play d to save his life. Same with Evans. Even though Ariza is injured, our team is better for not having them on it, in my opinioin.

Trading them has opened up time and responsibility for players that really needed it and who actually can hold up their end

I'd rather have someone who contributes something to the team, then justa warm body out on the court.

mihm isn't playing because he's hurt, dj is just filling in, we're not expecting him to be an allstar
and cook didn't contribute to the team, except for his comedic value

I still have faith in Luke, and although his shots arent falling, his court vision and passing ability are invaluable.
We dont need another scorer or potential scorer. We need a guy who can make an extra pass, and I feel we have him in Luke.

I don't like Luke, but this is a very good summation of his contribution, imo. A shame that he doesn't agree with you on some parts though. He's been pretty awful shooting wise this month.

Those missed wide open jumpers and how he gets blocked in the paint but still tries to force his way really frustrate me sometime. But I can live with him coming off the bench... just not as a starter.

On topic, I miss neither of the mentioned players. Cook is still pathetic (I have a sequence still vividly playing in my head, from the last Orlando game, when they had the momentum and it was a really close game... and just because he was 3/3 from beyond the arc he decided to jack up another from something like 2 feet behind the line. Needless to say he missed.), Evans is actually playing pretty solid, but he would probably have nowhere to play if another player was shipped for Ariza (whom I like a considerable amount more than the two players).

I do agree with the poster who said, the Lakers should get rid of Mbenga, Carl etc. next year. But you can't have a complete makeover in such a short time, I'm pretty happy with the current roster and can't wait for Bynum's and Ariza's rehab to be over. It's taking forever.

I hope Evans has a great career. Like him alot. He was hurt alot when he was here and he seems to have gotten better knees lately. Cook.... he was my scapegoat. I wouldn't have him back for free.

Not a big fan of cook at all. Im glad he got traded. Evans on the other hand was kinda sad to see go. But Im very happy with ariza, and im sure once he's 100% healthy, he'll be dunking on everyone.

Watching Cook was near intolerable, but it was pretty obvious that he would be more successful on another team. No complaints about Evans. It was a win-win trade... Magic get contributing role players and the Lakers get a player unique to the roster. Still have to see how things go with him though... he hasn't exactly been missed.

Cook has been solid...Hes gotten himself back into game shape and gets help from Howard on D.

He just fits in with our team, where everyone just chucks 3's.

Evans is a hustle guy who knows how to get open without the ball.

I miss Ariza a little...He hustled and did some dirty work...But overall he got hype from dunking on people, and never really did show much skill in anything else.

Cook was funny? Did I miss something since he was drafted?
