Did we trade the Knicks pick, or our very own?

I thought we traded the Knicks pick, but I was on NBADraft.net, and it seems like we traded a future first of our own.

I'm curious on clarification for this as well.

Here is what I've *heard*:

That the Jazz owe the Sixers a pick in "the unprotected zone" sometime between 2009-2013. If the Knicks pick gets transferred to us AND it falls in the "unprotected zone", it can be used to satisfy the debt. I'm not sure what happens if, say, both picks fall in the "unprotected zone" in 2010.

Anyone have clearer details?

I think if both picks fall into the unprotected zone then Philly gets the higher one.

But, in no scenario does Philly get a lotto pick.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I guess Philly gets the higher pick if that happens. But unless it's ridiculously protected or the Jazz have a meltdown, I'm guessing Philly will get the 2009 pick.

The protection looks something like this:

From KFAN's blogsite:
In today's Fab 5 at 5 today on 1320, K-Fan Larry H. Miller revealed what the protections are on the Jazz first round pick.

Larry said this wasn't exactly right but is close.

The sixers will never get a awesome pick back. If the Knicks continue to suck, Jazz will get the pick.

The sixers will never get a lottery pick back from the Jazz. If it was the knicks pick it would have been reported as such. Its a future Jazz pick, if it happens to fall on 2010 then we still will have a 1st. Give KOC some credit, he isnt that dumb. What Fido posted is the closet thing we have to the protection break down. Obviously we cant put protections on a pick we dont own(which we dont currently own the knicks pick yet), even further explaining that we still own the knicks pick. This was a very genius coup by KOC because they probably wont see this pick till 2012.
