It's a huge difference--Webster averages two minutes more per game, but verages 30% fewer shots attempted than Travis. On a PER36 basis, Outlaw averages more shot attempts than anyone else on the team, including Brandon, while Webster is 8th on the team.

You would think that would be somewhat of a good thing. If he would get 31-34mpg, he'd probably be averaging at just about 20ppg. He definitely needs to pass more but we need more scorers and I dont see how he wouldnt be a great option. For a better comparison look at Granger (whom many here wanted, Including me). In 35 minutes he averages 18ppg and 1.9apg, and shoots a lower pct. than Outlaw as well.

We'd have a longer frontcourt than your envisioning by playing Manute Bol, but I wouldn't want to do that either. And in no way would I want Outlaw to start. I don't think he's a player that really improves his teammates (the black hole thing again) and he really provides almost nothing other than the ability to jack it up.

Come on now. We're obviously not talking about anything like Manut Bol, and im sorry but hes clearly better than Webster right now. He provides a little better rebounding than Martell (albeit not much, but just saying he provides more than just the ability to jack it up) and provides adequate defense. youre making it out seem like hes only a chucker and thats about all he brings to the team. He also gets to the free throw line more than Martell

Also dont believe the asthma thing means anything. Go look at some of the stat lines of his games that hes played 30 minutes or more. He wouldnt be in the NBA if his asthma hindered his game. I just see a guy who is capable of being, if not already is but just needs more minutes, a Danny Granger SF.

While that is true, Fernandez may fill that roll next year as the scorer off the bench, or he may start, or he might do neither... we just don't know. I do think ( from what I've been hearing management feels the same way) that we need another GREAT player, not just good. At least borderline great player. Right now Aldridge is too young to be that third weapon, and Oden... well we don't even know how good he's going to be next year.

Roy needs help on this team. Also, I'm still not set on Blake being our point guard, he's a solid backup...but I don't know if he's a championship caliber point guard.

Wow, really disagree with this. First of all, Outlaw isn't done developing, he's just now realizing (utilizing) his scoring ability, and he hasn't polished it yet, he hasn't figured out what is a good shot and what is a bad shot..YET.

Second, can you blame the guy for trying to score? NO ONE else on this team can score on their own (other than Roy, Aldridge sometimes) , our offense is down right pathetic. I have no doubt that McMillan TELLS Travis to shoot the ball, Travis just does what he's told...yes he takes some bad shots, but like I said he's learing.

Third, I really disagree that Outlaw only provides "the ability to jack it up". He usually plays good help D and crashes the boards. Especially when he's playing SF. How is a guy as skinny as Travis supposed to grab rebounds against the likes of the Milsaps and B. Bass guys of the league. Travis CANNOT play extended minutes at PF.

The Blazers are making the right move putting Outlaw at SF, whether it's starting or backup. He's going to play better there. He can grab more boards, he can help on D more without the opposing teams PF/C getting wide open for the dunk or layup, and he can easily shoot over smaller SF's.
