Any talk of a Ratliff buy out?
There hasn't been much discussion of it on the Celtics boards, but I was wondering if you guys have heard anything about the possibility of Theo being bought out of his contract. I would think he wouldn't be in the long-term plans for the Wolves, and if he's healthy (big IF) he could help a playoff team. Scott Pollard has been a disaster for us, and although Powe and Davis have played good, neither is a center and it would be good to have another veteran presence for the playoffs.

What else do you want from us? Our GM already made you the best team in East and you still want more?

Haha, fair enough. But you didn't exactly give KG away. Last I checked, Big Al was working out pretty well for you guys. I think the trade was win-win. Once your younger guys mature, your team will be dangerous.

At the beginning of the season, Wittman was encouraged at how aggressively the young Wolves played on defensive, knowing Ratliff could eliminate some of their mistakes. I think that Wittman wants Ratliff back so they can get used to playing like that again, and perhaps more importantly, getting a look at Al Jefferson at PF, with a big center behind him. Al's done pretty well at center, but most of us feel his true position is PF, and while Theo isn't in the future, the coaching staff wants that preview of a big center, if that's their off-season plan. I expect them to inquire about Diop, and maybe even Patrick O'Bryant or Magloire. However, the more likely plan may be that they use a draft pick to get a young defensive center.
In other words, no, I haven't heard anything about a Ratliff buy-out.

Personally I wouldn't be against buying him out if he asked for it, but I'd prefer him to play out the season even if it is just to give Al someone to go up against in practise to improve him against big defensive guys.
As to bringing him back cheaply I'd do it if he could guarantee he'd play 60+ games next year, but if he could do that he wouldn't be cheap to resign.

maybe he should put the tony allen dunk where he tried to showboat after the whistle and busted his knee..that was a classic blooper
Yeah, don't you just love it when players have career-threatening injuries?? What Tony Allen did was something you see in about every NBA game every night. He just had a freak accident and landed on his leg wrong. The fact that you find it amusing shows what a worthless POS you are.
