Obviously Wade has the better supporting cast, but both are pretty bad. However, you can't quite compare the two situations since the Heat right now need a new start and are apparently tanking the rest of the season.

If you could give Wade's current team a healthy new start to a new season, I would expect them to at least challenge for a playoff spot in the East.

Still... I would never expect a Kobe led team to do nearly as badly as the Heat are doing right now.

Odom is a player very capable of running a team through, and obviously so. He anchored Miami's team for many parts during the season in 2003/2004, as he did in LA when Kobe was out that season, and also to start the season off last year, even WITH Kobe on the team; getting back from injury.

Marion, as great of a player as he is, is a super role player, who plays to his role; rebound, defend, effort, and score when given the shot; and he excels in that. But, he's not the same player Odom is/was for LA/Miami.....

Stop making excuses for Wade. He will never even touch Kobe's greatness. Just get over it.
NO ONE is saying Wade>Kobe or vice versa.

It seems you're the only one who sees this....

The heat need to get Beasley, Rose, or Bayless in the draft and they will be set.

They should sit Wade out for the season... hes injured (and playing like garbage --- for his standards) so they can tank and get one of those 3.

Oh and this is a joke of a question.. Smush + Kwame starting and almost beating the Suns, enough said.

I know some kobe fans desperately want to ignore REALITY:

BDL: Well, speaking of getting in shape, you had a pretty rough collison with Kobe on Sunday. How is the knee and shoulder holding up?

Wade: Ah, just as it has been all season. It's been touch-and-go. My shoulder's been fine, but my knee is ... instead of 100% it's been about 70% all year. But I knew coming into this season that it was going to be a year before my knee feels the way I want it to feel. Some days it feels good, some days it doesn't. You have to play these games through the pain for your teammates and for your organization and do what you love to do. Next year I'll be healthy. But this year is a different year. I'm not playing with that explosiveness that I'm used to having. It's been a little different. But I'm not complaining, I'm on the court.

So of course, the ONE year Wade is not a 100%, the FIRST year Wade won't lead his team to the playoffs, kobe fans attack and say he's not even a superstar!?! How insecure and immature can you be?

Wade stole some of Kobe's thunder these last 3 years, everything will be OK. I know these last 4 years have been tough, watching Wade and Lebron put on shows in the playoffs, going to the Finals, deciding championships; while Kobe's been watching from his couch. Kobe's got a real team now, relax and enjoy the ride.

If Wade is not a superstar, what does it say about Kobe?....After Wade dominated the head 2 head matchup last year.

2006-07 Head to Head stats:

Wade: 37.5PPG 53%FG 9.5AST 4.5REB 4STL 2BLK

Kobe: 20.5PPG 36%FG 6AST 3REB 0.5STL 0.5BLK (hmm...similar to Kobe's #s in the '04 Finals)

Number of championships as the undisputed #1 option on a team:

Kobe: 0
Wade:1

Does any of this mean Wade is better than Kobe? No. Almost every single person agrees Kobe is better, and probably the best in the NBA. So give the childish insecurity a rest. We know Kobe is the best, no need to try to diminish Wade, and try to unsuccessfully convince people that he's at a 100% and that he just sucks.

Seriously, some of you kobe fans are just ruining the General Board. Act like you've been good before and calm down.

Not sure why this topic isn't LOCKED...

The original poster's motive is clear and obvious - to BAIT posters into saying Kobe's team was worse, therefore Kobe is the greatest player to ever roam the planet. If not any more obvious, his screenname is KobeD

The "baiting" technique is used very commonly by insecure fans wanting other fans to give them some self-satisfaction. It usually leads to an immediate TOPIC LOCK, not sure why this one wasn't caught by mods.

To toss more fuel to the flames :) We can compare Wade's 2003-2004 team to Kobe's 2004-2005 team.
