Rate the best C/PF combos in the league to see were we are

Post#1 » by Dexmor » Tue Feb 26, 2008 7:48 pm

My opinion

1.Bynum and Gasol- Haven't seen them together yet but with Bynum's defense and rebounding and low post play and Gasol being top 3 pf versitlity wise (he could be a sf offensively) I know it will work.

2.Kaman and Brand- Again haven't seen the new Kaman with him but Brand's points mostly come from 15 feet which is surprisng to most.

3.Chandler and West- One for offense and one for defense. Perfect match.

4.Bosh and Bargnani- This one is going to move up to #2 on the list within 2 years. Bosh surprisingly is comfortable inside and Bargnani wants to be Kukoc so it works.

5.Ming and Scola- The Spurs are known for there genius moves espially when it comes to imports so how did they screw this one up so bad?

6.Shaq and Amare- Shaq is an above average center but him clogging the lane makes Amare a top 3 pf who will probably put up better numbers then any pf now that he is there and for those of you who think Bynum could mess up Gasol's game just watch a Suns and you willl see how wrong you are.

7.Aldridge and Oden- They will be second or third the second Greg actually plays. As a matter of fact they are so good only one of them has played and they still made the list.

8.Curry and Zack- They don't win but that is only because of there coach and there lack of defenders as supporting cast. There wings all want to shoot which is why the Knicks suck butt.

9.Horford and Smith- Next year these guys move way up higher on the list. Horford is not Elton Brand like I thought but he will be a beast. Smith is Shawn Marion plus adding Shawn Kemp in his heyday.

Is there any I missed or do you have a different order you want to write? I would appreciate it. You can just write the team, I know who there starters are.

Are you serious? That was 2 games. Perkins is a small average center. Bynum averaged 13 and 10 in 28 minutes with almost 3 and the last month he played he was averaging 18 and 13. If Perkins did that for 3 games he would be on the cover of the Boston newspaper. Bynum did it and it was almost expected. Bynum is sooooooooo much better.

Why does it seem like you lay low for a few weeks then go on a rampage of starting 4 threads in one day about, basically, nonsense?

I got fired and I am moving cross country so I have been busy. You still have a problem with me starting Laker threads on the Laker boards? Just don't answer them if the questions don't interest you. Don't be mad that I asked them and want to talk about it, doesn't that seem a little silly to you? Out of all the things in life to get angry about doesn't starting a few Laker debates on a board were you sopposed to talk about the Lakers seem a little bit down there?

ALl 4 of the threads you started could have been 1 thread with 4 different questions:

1) How good do you think we will be next year

2) What do you guys think is our coolest/best lineup

3) Do you think we have the best bench in the league

4) Rank the best PF/C combos in the league

[/thread]

Its that simple star, no need to clog the board

When was the last thread before I made those? The board has no chance of ever being cluttered. I wish you guys could just talk about basketball instead of being so sensitive and anil and the threads.
My opinions are smart there based on facts and I always make good points and put up with all the insults. If you just talked about the team instead of worrying about the damm threads this would be alot better. You guys mess it up more then I do.
I checked the board all day before I posted and nobody was talking.
Like me or not I spice up the board by actually talking and not being afraid to post or paranoid of the board being "cluttered" and I talk ball. I never make trade threads that should be in the trade threads and no matter what you people say to me I never report any of you so what is the problem? Why does it bother you if it is done in one thread or 4? Do you think the internet is going to run out of room?
I think it messes up the board and wastes all of our time by posting "did you need to make a thread for that every other post".
Why don't you try having a debate with me and see if that is more fun then being a broken record.
I mean you just want to fight, your sig literally is an attempt to make me feel stupid and I still want to just talk ball. The truth is the board would be alot better off if the mods instead of worrying about the amount of threads would stop all the insults. I do always stay within the rules. You guys don't, you get away with insulting me all day.

Was that face towards me or the guy who dissed me?
Trixx were would you rate our twin tower combo? Am I being biased by rating ours #1 in your opinion?
To me Bynum is the 3rd best center and Gasol is the well I have to make a list to figure it out, o.k. 7th best PF. AL Jefferson is a Center and really Duncan is one to and espially with Kurt Thomas although they would probably call Finely the Center before Duncan for his legacy. 3 and 8, nobody beat that. You could also make an arguement that he is better then Brand and Boozer with his size, quickness and ability to play 3 positions when those guys can play 1 and 2 positions.
I know you guys are thinking Dirk is way to low and alot better then Boozer and everybody but Duncan and KG but I just don't like 7 Footers that would rather shoot the 3 and can't block shots. Call me old fashion. Also I think any 7 footer who is sopposed to be mvp that can be shut down by T-Mac a sg a tall sg but still a sg is wildly overrated. As a matter of fact I would rather have Gasol over Dirk but I think I am the only one.

1.Duncan
2.KG
3.Amare
4.Bosh
5.Brand
6.Boozer
8.Dirk
8.Gasol

How about rating our current C/PF tandem

Gasol and Lamar

We're 9-1 with this tandem and dominating the league right now

I think they dominate the Hornets frontline. West will still get his numbers, but i think overall Gasol and Lamar would have more impact as a combo

It wasnt directed at the fact that you but Bynum/Gasol as #1.

I was laughing at the fact that you put Bynum/Gasol as #1 knowing youve NEVER seen them play together, yet you discredit dcash's choice to put them second based on two games.

Something doesnt seem to fit here.

A real basketball answer. Thank you. I love coming here and talking ball but I only get to do that 10% of the time I am here. I would have mention Gasol and Odom but Bynum is better then Odom imo and if I rated them 2 instead of Bynum Lakers aren't first imo. Kaman and Brand have them beat. Also I am hoping and praying Odom does in fact move to the sf spot when Bynum comes back so Bynum starts.
It is true they are 9-1 but they have Kobe Bryant and yes so does Bynum and Gasol but those 2 will compliment each other so well. Judging on not skill but just the perfect player to put next to Bynum would be Gasol with his passing and his ability to be a dead on automatic 15 foot jump shooter and everything else he can do. Also Gasol's weakness his defense Bynum makes up for.
I think and I have for years before the trade Gasol is extremely underrated. When they were going to the playoffs that was all Gasol. He just didn't fit in the system they were trying to run but still got his 19 and 9. To play with Kobe who is alot more unselfish now and does in fact now make players better but still to play with Kobe the best scorer in the world history and average 22 points with a bunch of players around you who are double figure or at least could be double figure scorers is pretty amazing.
David West averages 19 points but plays with the third best passer and first best pg in the game is not as good as averaging 22 (his Laker average) playing without a true pg in the triangle offense that has Kobe.

Oh and to the other guy I wasn't using my getting canned as an excuse to make threads it's why I have been "laying low" I am also moving cross country which explains my absence.
