Yao out for the season

Post#1 » by noone » Tue Feb 26, 2008 9:55 pm

Yao is out for the season with a stress fracture.

I think the playoff race just got much easier.

Well that eliminates Houston from playoff contention, I'm guessing its a battle between Nuggets and Warriors for 7th :)

Well, the Rockets did go 20-12 w/o Yao last year, so its not a guarentee that they fall off, but it certainly doesn't hurt our chances.

Now they're in a much tougher conference, so I don't see them doing as well as they did last season.

True, though they are also a much deeper team than they were last season.

Just saying its not a guarentee that they miss the playoffs, it does make it more likely though.

oh yea,I do feel bad for yao all bs aside.

houston played well in yao's absence last year.

still gotta get 50+ wins to get that 8th seed.

GK might owe Yao for another season with the Nuggets.

It's kind of like the All-Star game in that you got so many players (teams in this case) competing for a spot, you don't want to celebrate another player's injury but a "roster spot" just opened up.

Our schedule is so brutal, Idk guys. Hopefully we can do that 7 game win streak that every other team does.

Houston has a cake schedule the rest of the way. They could either drop or stay the same.

GS has a pretty easy next 5 games. And then after that it gets much tougher.

The Jazz have a pretty tough schedule especially finishing the season off. I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose 5 or even 6 of their last 6.

The Nuggets have a tough 5 game stretch coming up and then a little later a tough 4 game. And then possibly the most crucial stretch of 3 games against GS (away), Utah (away), and then Houston (home) before they finish the season off against Memphis.
