Yeah, I was just going to say as much - Murray for Magloire was supposedly discussed, however another player would have had to be included to make the salaries match (likely Brezec) and NJ didn't want to have to drop a player to make room for Brezec - especially when they believed Murray was going to be waived anyways.
Rip Hamilton is a stain on the Pistons franchise.

Dallas is looking at him (along with Justin Williams and Khryapa) so, a question: was his poor play a result of having too many centers or he just plain sucks?
I've always thought he was a sham all-star and an overrated player not worth his contract in the past, but for the vet min is it too much of a stretch to expect him to spell Damp for 15 minutes?

Boston will try to get him:

The Celtics are also expected to inquire about guard Flip Murray, waived by Detroit yesterday, and center Jamal Magloire, waived by New Jersey. Both will be free agents tomorrow if they clear waivers.

Couldn't care less. Look at McInnis. He's playing fairly well and I don't care. We gave them chances, McInnis was a dumbass off the court and Magloire was a dumbass on the court. We traded away McInnis away for a TE. Even though we didn't use it, good move. Kept him away from the team. Magloire was a 1 year shot with us. If he would've played well, he would've earned a contract. If he sucked, it was a 1 year expiring. Absolutely no risk in signing him.

I think he signed with Dallas in the ideal conditions.
1) We desperatly needed another big.
2) Even though Avery was a PG, he sucks coaching PGs (a la Harris) and is great coaching bigs (a la Dampier, Bass & Dirk's improved post game)
3) It was for the vet min...thus no pressure to live up to his contract
4) As late as Portland, he played a similar game to Dampier, thus smoothe substitutions in Dallas if he can pick up where he did last year
Hopefully this is the case of one man's trash is another man's treasure
