Post#1 » by Dexmor » Tue Feb 26, 2008 8:02 pm

In the entire league?

Now lets pretend the people who think Bynum should be a 6th man live on earth and he starts and Phil starts him with Odom at the 3 and POW at the 4 and you know the rest do we honestly have the best bench in the game?

Mihm
DJ
Ronny
Radman
Luke
Ariza
Sasha
Farmar
Karl

Does anybdy beat that? I know none of them could be starters on a title team except maybe Farmar and other teams do have starters coming off the bench but we do have alot of guys who are close to starters.

What do you guys think and if there is a better bench what team has it?

I think we have a true bench. No one is a starter coming off the bench here.

If I am not trolling and not breaking the rules by opening up trade threads not on the trade board and I haven't been here in months and nobody else is posting or opening up threads what is the problem here? Why can't we just talk? Your sopposed to be able to open up threads. What would the board look like without threads? Nothing. No traffic, no advertising, no realgm.com. Why do you have a problem with it?
If you don't care for the topic just don't talk about it. How does it hurt? The more content a site has the more traffic the higher it comes up on search engine ranking the more money a site makes. Unless I am trolling or coming on here everyday and opening up 20 threads that are all the same thing it shouldn't bother you. Out of all the annoying things in this world a person trying to talk about the Lakers on a Lakers message board should not be one. You guys ever think about meditating or Camamel tea? It calms you down.
In the same amount of time it takes to post what you posted you could have posted who has a better bench or say why we do. Espially you, your waste that giant brain of yours.
You are one of the rare people who know as much as a person can about the game. Your opionion of who has the best bench is in all likely hood correct which I would love to pick your brain but all I get is "did you have to open a thread".
It's what the board is made for. Do you get a bonus for less threads open?
Ever hang out at the Grizzles board? Nobody opens threads because there is nothing to talk about with that team. Would you prefer the Laker board like that? I honestly don't know.
I have been to every message board on the web (bballwise) and this is the best one even though the people are so touchy because it has the most traffic and people talk and you have to talk in threads.
Stop worrying if there are 4 threads opened or 40 in a day. Just enjoy the fact that your favorite team is so popular there are alot of people to talk to. You don't realize how spoiled you are. Some boards are so dead because of the population and the team and this is the opposite. Enjoy it.

If you could swap our entire bench for another teams (forget the fan favorite factor) would you?
Or do you think any other bench is better then ours?
I know we have the best starting lineup in basketball when Bynum comes back and the fact that Fisher is our weakest player in the starting 5 is pretty amazing. Not only is he the weakest it's a huge dropoff.

I'd be inclined to put up Toronto's bench as a counter argument but yes, the Lakers certainly deserve to be in the discussion.

I don't follow other teams benches much, not very intriguing to me, but this is the best our bench has looked in years.

That Spurs bench doesn't look half bad.

Veterans like Stoudamire, Finley, and Horry step their games up during the 2nd season.

Detroit is very deep this season and I actually enjoy watching Pistons games when their bench is in. Guys like Maxiell, Amir Johnson, Stuckey, Afflalo, and Hayes are high energy guys who play hard every night. We have 4 guys who play hard every night, Turiaf, Ariza, Sasha, and Farmar. We really need one more high energy big off the bench.

Detroit has one of those benches where they're capable of getting the team back into the game.

I've seen games where Saunders will bring them in a bit earlier just to regain the momentum.

Energy and hustle are two very underrated attributes in basketball.

Our Bench is overrated, the cavs, mavs, spurs, pistons, celtics, and jazz have a better and more balanced bench offensively and defensively, we just have shooters on our bench.

How many times have the Cavs bench killed our bench? just because our bench scores a lot of points doesn't make them the best bench in the league..

I must admit our bench right now is a little overated. They only put up so much points because we been blowing teams out and they got a lot of playing time, almost as much minutes as the starters, even more in some games.

There is a man by the name of Manu Ginobili who's not gonna let that happen. Not even close, rightfully so.
