Mutombo is the best post defender in history. Nobody can score on him on the block except prime Shaq.

This might be a game where EJ should get Haywood out of the game early so Blatche can take Mutombo out on the perimeter.

nate, I agree.

Take Haywood out and let Andray take Mutombo away from the basket.

I'm rarely really, truly embarrassed by what we do on the court, even when we're playing really bad. But what Mutombo is doing to our bigs right now, I almost feel like walking away from the TV for a few minutes.

Surprised EJ hasn't made ANY change to our lineup - namely, getting Daniels out and Mason Jr in, and also possibly getting Songaila or Blatche out and *gulp* Songaila in, since he has seemed to find his jumpshot lately.

Anything to get this offense going.

No substitutions yet.

Seven points and a heap of bad shots.

WTF is EJ thinking not having Mason or Young or McGuire out there. EJ coached terrific yesterday. He's sleepwalking right now.

AD at least should sit because if all they're going to do is let Antawn force bad shots you don't need an injured, non-defender on the court.

Even Songaila for AD would be a good sub right now.

Blatche 1/7 from the field. :banghead:

Just because we are supposed to get blown out doesn't mean we have to just mail it in. Scola is pitiful and we are making him look like an All Star.

On the bright side, at least the Wizards are trying to take it into the paint. You gotta admire their perseverence

Now that Mutombo is out, I'd actually prefer that Haywood be in the game. Houston's bench doesn't have anybody that can handle him.

1st quarter is mercifully over.

To be fair, though, Houston is a top defensive team in the NBA (though Yao is a big part of that).

WTH is Blatche's problem? 1/9 FG :wavefinger:

I can't bare to watch this garbage. Time to go watch the Caps kick ass.

We're going to need one of Mason's better games. He basically needs to catch fire.

I applaud AB for taking it inside, just a matter of finishing.

Wow, Wood getting some early PT in the 2nd quarter. Nice job, EJ.

So far, I don't really have many complaints about the Wizards' game. They're not playing particularly stupid or lackadaisical. They just aren't playing well and they ran into a fresh Mutombo who hasn't played much this season.

Let's see how this plays out. The game isn't over yet.
