Sometimes, you gotta give credit to the other team. Yes, the Wizards aren't playing well, but Houston has something to do with it.

What a beautiful move by NY1...all the way up to the point where he shot an airball.

Seven points and a heap of bad shots.

WTF is EJ thinking not having Mason or Young or McGuire out there. EJ coached terrific yesterday. He's sleepwalking right now.

AD at least should sit because if all they're going to do is let Antawn force bad shots you don't need an injured, non-defender on the court.

Even Songaila for AD would be a good sub right now.

But that's our EJ. The balls were swinging last night. Tonight. A little girl.

The balls out move would have been to get DMAC on TMAC.

Instead all we get is AJ, and not even on his good side of the basket. What was he doing posting up on the left?

There ya go, that further proves my point. The Wiz are just holding on to the ball and hoisting up bad shots right as the shot clock winds down. No offense whatsoever.

Spence wrote:Very, very impressed with the Houston defense tonight. Washington is missing a ton of shots, obviously, but the Rockets are denying passes, chasing players all over the court and thru every screen, contesting every shot with a hand in the face. It is -- easily -- the most impressive defensive performance I've seen by any team in the NBA this year. Washington's shooting isn't helping matters, but Houston is doing its part and then some.

Do they always play such great defense? I don't have the opportunity to watch them very often, but this is just an awesome display.

I know we're not supposed to give credit to the opponent -- every missed shot is further evidence of complete moral and intellectual failure of the head coach -- but these Rockets look pretty focused to me.

They aren't #2 in the NBA in defensive efficiency for nothin'. They may not be this good every game (and I'm almost certain they're not), but they always give a consistently hard effort.

After watching this display. I'd drop everyone but Gil, Caron, Haywood, Blatche, and just fill the rest of the lineup with D-Leaguers who might actually play with some heart and f****g pride.

Franchise low for a half is 25 points.

Will we do it?

This is one of those games where I really believe we could represent dc better than what's on the floor.

Jamison gives up the put-back and then jacks up another shot. Does he have a conscience? Boy is he terrible.

Blatche now 1/10 FG :P

Forget the half. We are setting the shot clock era record for least points in a game. If Eddie doesn't get fired after this....

"They (refs) are just going to take the rest of the night off.."

I agree Buck. It's so evident that they put big bucks on the Rockets -10.

Jamison should get the ball every possession. I love his game. He's so hard to guard. He's the only player that I can see bringing this game closer

I still don't all the whining about the lack of effort. The Wizards are playing hard, just not well. We're taking it inside, we're controlling the defensive glass, we're getting steals. We just can't get a good look. Houston has our offense figured out.
